I got the idea of doing this post while I was going through my lipstick collection the other day for another blog post – The Lipstick Tag ( click to read it ). It was pretty obvious that these two lipsticks I am going to show you next are so close in colour that only their finishes make all the difference between them.
They are both orchid, the star colour of the year – some say. I personally love this colour since I can’t even remember. Now I am glad I can wear it shamelessly!
The first lipstick is the Dior Rouge Lipstick in #744 Allégresse. I am sorry guys! You are probably sick and tired of me going on and on about this one… But, believe me, I AM OBSESSED with it! That is why I am going to give you the link to read yourselves if you want a proper review about this product. So click here!
The other lipstick is my latest purchase. Yeah! I have no idea what took me so long to buy this one! It is the Chanel Rouge Allure Velvet Luminous Matte Lip Color in #44 La Diva. It came out with this Chanel Spring 2014 Collection. On their web site they say that Chanel is elevating the matte to a new elegance with this next-generation of non-drying matte lipstick formulation. It glides on the lips with an intensely rich colour and a sumptuously soft, velvet matte finish.

La Diva has a pretty strong neon tone to the already very bright fucsia colour. But I still love it. It offers a very edgy touch. Some may say it is more appropriate for a night time look but if you pair it with a natural overall face makeup it can easily be worn during the day. I wore it almost every day since I bought it just slightly patting the product and blending it on my lips with my finger. And yes, I find this new formula is not as drying as the other Rouge Allures I own. And it also lasts a good few hours on the lips.
See you soon, beautiful!
