For me, this Summer it is going to be all about glowing, bronzed, healthy skin.
So, I decided to share with you what products and what tricks I use to achieve the amazing “Goddess” look. Bronzed, healthy glowing skin, vibrant colours on the eyes and lips, bronzing and contouring, self-tanning that is what my next posts will be about!
Let’s kick off this mini-series with Tip #1: Powders and the ones I am going to propose to you next are the Hourglass Ambient Lighting Powder, in shade Luminous Light and the gorgeous shades of the Hourglass Ambient Lighting Powder Palette.
I’m sure all of you beauty addicts out there have heard and read tons of reviews on the beautiful Hourglass powders already, that is why I am not going to go in depth with analyzing these products. But I am still going to underline the essentials.
The Hourglass Ambient Lighting Powder in Luminous Light is described as a “champagne pearl”. On me it is a peach with white shimmers which doesn’t transfer on the skin but covers it in a “luminous” ( hence the name! ) veil. It really goes on mostly colorless on bronzed skin but since I am pale, on me it acts like a subtle bronzer, which is the main reason I bought it for.
The Hourglass Ambient Lighting Palette is, maybe, the most known and desired of their products. It really shook the beauty world mainly because it was a Limited Edition release. It was selling out like crazy! Good thing that by the end of last year Hourglass decided to make it permanent. That way I was able to move it from my Bucket List to the drawers of my collection.
The Palette contains 3 of the single powders shades, the particularity of it being that the shade in the middle Incandescent Light is a special shade created exclusively for this palette. The other two powders Dim Light and Radiant Light can be purchased separately.
Dim Light is more of a neutral peach beige type of colour, a pale, light beige with neutral to warm undertones and a very subtle satin shimmers. It matches perfectly my skin tone and I can use it all-over the face, light-handed though because of the shimmer particles.
Incandescent Light is the highlighting powder by excellence. A pearlescent, pale, light beige with neutral undertones and a soft ivory shimmer all in one product. It transfers amazing on my skin, creating a healthy awake look.
Radiant Light is described as a “golden beige powder”. It is the darkest of the shades, even darker than the Luminous Light ( see picture below! ). I use it to define my cheeks and on the places where the sun usually touches my face, which adds a subtle warmth to the look, that is very natural and flattering.
All the powders are paraben, talc, fragrance, nano-particle and gluten free and recommended for all skin types, if gently and strategically used.
I got mine here and they still have them in stock! Also available at Sephora.com!
See you soon, beautiful!
xx, Annie
Wow, they all show up much better than I expected based on how they look in the package. Then again, I knew these couldn’t be so raved about for nothing

Hey, girl! I made a post a while ago about these powders, and I absolutely adore them. They’re so subtle but actually make a huge difference in the radiant and polished look I try (maybe don’t succeed) to get on a daily basis. I actually am so pale that I can use Radiant Light as a sort of illuminating + bronzer duo! SO glad Sephora started re-stocking these this summer.

I love Hourglass so much. I haven’t really tried too many things, though…I bought a lip lacquer by them but I have yet to master using it, haha!

Lol! It was about time, right?! I love the formulation so much! Great quality! But the packaging bugs me a bit! It got scratched in my makeup bag, have no idea how that happened! 😦

Hi lovely! Only the Palette was LE when they first launched it! And after seeing how well it sold they decided to make it permanent! The single powders were permanent from the beginning! So no worries there! xx

I feel like the odd one out here, but I’m not really a fan of these – Maybe there was too much hype and my expectation was therefore quite high to begin with, but yeah I was just a big ‘meh’. Still, your swatches look nice and I think if you’re a powder lover you’ll love these 🙂 xx

Hi my lovely Libby! Hehe! Not odd at all! Maybe they’re not the type of product you like! I knew I was getting a highligting powder with not much coverage and it worked for me!
Why did it let you down? I would really like to know if you want to share 🙂 xx

Pretty shades, also suitable to those who like me have a pinky undertone…What about the feeling? Are they also silken once applied? I’m looking for paraben-free bronzers which don’t leave a cakey feeling / look…cheers!

This is the right product for you lovely! It only leaves a natural looking veil on your skin! It’s not cakey or shimmering! It has no parabens, no scents, it also is gluten free! Hope this was helpful! 🙂 xx

Keep in mind though that it is a highlighting powder => glowing skin! 😉

Beautiful swatches! I love how they look in the sunlight. After all the hype I finally caved and bought Diffused Light since I’m very fair. It’s the only highlighter I’m comfortable wearing on a daily basis and it really does make the skin look lovely.

Could you mix the radiant and incandescent light together to get the luminous light? Is it worth to splurge on both the kit and luminous light, or which one would you prefer?
Thank you!

First of all, each colour is unique in its own way! I suppose you can mix incandescent and radiant but there’s no guarantee you’ll get luminous! But for its versatility I’d definitely recommend the palette! You get to try more than one shade to use for multiple purposes! Hopefully this was helpful! 😉 xx
