Crème brûlée, Fresh Fig, hand cream, Laura Mercier, Laura Mercier Hand Crèmes, saviour, skincare, winter
I have to admit that I’m not the biggest hand cream lover!
Therefore if I can avoid applying it regularly I’m the happiest!… Which never happens during the cold winter months when, even I have to recognise that a good hand cream really does wonders!
I’m not a big fan of hand creams mainly because I hate that sticky, sweaty and cold sensation they often leave on the skin after the application ( anyone with me?! nope!? just me?!?? ). And on my perpetual cold hands that’s the least I want to feel at -15º Celsius!
Which brings me to the fact that I am very, very picky when it comes to choosing a “good” hand cream for myself! It has to absorb fast and never leave a greasy or, knock on wood!, a sticky film on my hands! The scent doesn’t have to be offensive! The smaller the packaging the better; a big packaging always discourages me from using it!
In the colder months I feel drawn towards gourmand scents: vanilla, crème brûlée, honey, coconut and pistache while during the warmer seasons I prefer lighter, barely there floral scents.
The ones that fall in all the categories above are the Laura Mercier Hand Crèmes and the fact that I repurchased them for the second winter in a row, that makes them a extraordinary… at least in my books!
My first choice is Crème brûlée – a warm and decadent combination of gourmand ingredients with a list which includes delicious notes of warm caramel, spun sugar, and French vanilla bean. Simply delicious and mouth-watering and the most gourmand scent on a skin care! If you ever had the chance to set foot in a French pâtisserie, that’s the right aura and the aroma of this hand cream.
My next option is Fresh Fig. Different from the crème brûlée vanillary scent, Fresh Fig is still a sweet, fresh and almost intoxicating gourmand scent. The main ingredients include the indulgent essence of the most fresh Celeste figs, to which there were added fruit bouquets of apricot nectar and ylang ylang. This particular scent has a smooth and sweet creamy base which blends in with green, earthy elements creating an unique and sensuous, very appealing scent. This is the one that sits on my desk at work, that I received so many compliments wearing it!
Inspired by her French heritage, Laura Mercier decided to create these decadent, delicious and at the same time sophisticated hand care formulas which are unbelievably hydrating and penetrate deep into the layers of your skin to comfort and soothe your hands, the result being a thoroughly moisturized and velvety soft skin and an amazing general mood.
Now that I shared mine, what are your hand saviours during winter?
See you soon, beautiful!
xx, Annie

I am so bad about using hand cream, and my hands are awful this winter! I used to use the L’Occitane and I did really like that. Fresh Fig sounds really nice 🙂

L’Occitane the Shes Butter one, right? I’ve been using that one for years and it’s still one of my favourites! The scent it’s amazing! But I love these two at the moment! 😊
Fresh Fig it’s definitely the one I easily see myself using in Spring too! Amazing scent indeed! 👌😌

Those sound like they smell so lovely! Especially the Fig one! I really have been loving my Tocca Hand Cream that I got from Birchbox it’s in the Lemon and Green Tea scent and it smells so good! I was also offered to be able to pick another scent for this month’s box out of a group of items so of course I went for it lol. I also like the Clarin’s Hand Cream that I won in a giveaway a while ago. 🙂 ❤ xoxo

Tocca like the perfumes? I saw some people online talking how amazingly gourmand Tocca perfumes smell but I had no idea they have an extended skin care line!
Wrote that down along with the Clarins one which I never tried either! 👌😌
Thanks for sharing beautiful!

I’m always on the look out for some fabulous hand creams, but with my skin experiencing some bad dryness, none of the scented ones ever work! I do however, wouldn’t mind trying out Laura Mercier’s souffle body butters! I hear they’re a treat. Have you tried them before?

Yes! I had a sampler box with four different scents a while ago and they were very very nice! Fast-absorbing and they smell delicious!
I also had a Honey bath box with Pistache which was always amazing!
I wasn’t head over heels impressed, I have to say but very very good products nonetheless!
Hope this was helpful lovely! 😁😊xx

I just added the fresh fig LM hand crème to my Sephora loves list. Yay! Thanks for sharing. I’ve been completely obsessed with fig lately.
If you get the chance, you should check out Tokyo Milk’s Dead Sexy hand cream. http://www.tokyo-milk.com/products/dead-sexy-no-6-bon-bon-shea-butter-rich-lotion I’m a hand cream snob as well, and this is a fantastic one!!
Quick update: I’ll be starting rounds on the orthopedic floor next week (that’s the day after I take boards!). So, that means that I have Saturday through Tuesday to do the last of my cramming. Although I test on Wednesday morning, I drive to Las Vegas on Tuesday evening. I decided to make the drive the night before so that I can get a good night’s sleep, and get to the testing center plenty early. My test starts at 8:00 am. :o)
How are you?? Has it been an okay transition from the holidays back to work?

Bonjour ma belle! I will definitely check out your favourite Tokyo hand cream, thank you for for sharing it! 😘
Good luck with your tests and I think that driving the night before it’s the best decision you’ve ever taken! You need a good night sleep before, if you can rest that is! I usually get so nervous the night before such important events that sleep is the last thing on my mind…😕
I hope you won’t panic and keep the studying rhythm at the same levels as until now and you’ll be fine, I’m positive!
On another note “getting back” to work was amazing… We had two more bank holidays this week so we basically had the whole week off! LOL😋😁
But there’s one thing I’ve definitely had enough of… This freaking cold! It’s getting cheekier by day…😩😔😓 Absolutely rude! 😤
I miss summer! 😩😔
Can’t wait for new updates lovely!

Wait wait wait! I read you’re coming to Italy soon. Great news! Let me know if you need any tips and don’t forget I’m here. Where are you going exactly?
To answer the question: I do have hand cream addictions, it depends on the budget…For a budget-saving option, my preference goes to this product, which is from a thermal location where I was brought up in http://www.termaldiffusion.it/product/13/Crema-Vellutante-Mani-100-ml.html
it’s brilliant! With a tiny amount you can hydrate hands, cuticles and nails, it smells soft and doesn’t waste all your money.
Before using this, I used to like Lancome, but it has been replaced in my purchases by the thermal treatment, since Nutrix Royal costs twice more, but is less effective.
Cheers!

without hand cream my skin cracks so much that I bleed 😦 I highly prefer it to be unscented which is hard to find. Just yesterday I tried to show someone a perfume sample, but they registered my hand cream instead.

Thank goodness my hands aren’t in that condition! Well even if it’s not the most pleasing process I still apply my hand cream often enough to allow that to happen! 😳
But when my hands think they can act up I use raw coconut oil combined with pure shea butter. I simply apply them on my hands, a good amount is highly recommend, massage them in, then I throw on some mittens, and sleep in them over night. These oils are supposed to heal and smoothen “incidents” like these!
Maybe you should try it too! 😉

I have yet to find the perfect hand cream. My skin literraly breaks in winter, and in the harsh Canadian winter, I get cuts just with the cold. So I need something really efficient, and without too much perfume as my husband is allergic to most synthetic fragrances. These days it is Neutrogena, and I’m seriously tempted to use raw karite butter and make my own. One day maybe…

I would actually love that!
Here in Europe we also have harsh winters! Last days we had -25 degrees Celsius! And cream is really essential! And even if it’s not always a pleasure it has to be done!
And I use raw oils too coconut and shea mostly! And when thing are really bad I apply those on my hands and sleep with some mitts on overnight! It helps!
