Sneaky release from one of my favourite makeup brand, Burberry!
As you may already know, Burberry launched the new Spring/Summer 2015 Collection The Birds and the Bees with the representative look back in autumn last year, inspired by “the sheer fabrics, patent textures and vivid shades of the Prorsum runway”, as they say. The makeup artist Andy Rowe, took us through this look step by step ( see it here ) using old Burberry iconic products and announcing a sum of new releases as well, but there was no mention of new eyeshadows launching anywhere. So when I saw these two “new and different” shades on their website for the Rose Pink Look, I knew I had to have them.
They are called the Eye Colour Silk Wet & Dry Eyeshadows and they come in two new shades #200 Tea Rose and #201 Rose Pink. Actually there is another Tea Rose in the old Sheer Eyeshadows line; it’s #11. But you will see the differences between the two when I will compare them later on. #201 Rose Pink is a completely new shade though.
There’s hardly any difference in terms of quality between the Sheers and the Colour Silk eyeshadows. Both lines are buttery soft, they blend effortlessly to create in the shortest time from the easiest look to more pretentious ones. Also, the fall-out is minimal and if you don’t forget to tap off the excess on your brush, you won’t even have any. Both formulas are weightless and silky-smooth and last on your lids throughout the day, beautifully enhancing the look. They both use silicones for smooth and flawless application, and contain micronised satin smooth pigments to ensure long-lasting colour and high pigmentation.
The only difference in the formula is that the new Colour Silk Wet & Dry Eyeshadows use a next-generation powder technology which gives multiple results… As in it can be applied dry for a more natural, buildable look, or wet for intense colour effects and precision lines to shape and define the eye.
You can see them in the picture above swatched wet and dry!
– left: Burberry Silk Eyeshadow #200 Tea Rose, right Burberry Sheer Eyeshadow #11 Tea Rose
In terms of colour #200 Rose Tea can be described as a soft, medium pink with pink hues. It’s so similar to the original Sheer Eyeshadow in #11 Tea Rose which is a dusty pink with satin finish. But what makes the difference between the two is precisely the finish.
As you can hopefully see in the picture above, #200 Tea Rose has a softer and luminous finish, with some micro specks of silver glitters through it which don’t transfer on your lids at all, don’t worry! Burberry isn’t that big on glitters anyway!
#201 Pink Rose is what I call the colour of the roses sorbet! The instant I opened it, I immediately pictured a spring garden and the sweet, floral rose scent and recalled the taste of the roses sorbet!
Deeper and with more personality than Tea Rose, Pink Rose is a rosy pink with warm undertones and the same silky finish of the new formula, but less luminous ( the glitter particles are barely there in this one ), which makes it a great colour to define your crease with.
Makeup used: everything Burberry.
Base:
– Sheer Foundation, colour #04 Trench
– Sheer Concealer in #02 Soft Beige
– Light Glow Blush #07 Earthy
Brows:
– the Effortless Eyebrow Definer in #02 Sepia
Eyes:
– #200 Rose Tea and #201 Rose Pink
– Bold Lash Mascara in #01 Ebony
– Effortless Kohl #03 Stone
Lips:
– Burberry Lip Definer #02 Dusty Rose
I also wore the same look with this lip liner and the Lip Glow in #19 Mallow Pink over it and it was a beautiful combination, very appropriate for Spring and Summer.
I’m very excited with these Silk Wet & Dry Eyeshadows new releases, and I sure hope that they were out for a test run and Burberry will release more shades in this lovely new formula.
What do you think about them? Yes or no?
See you soon, beautiful!
xx, Annie
Gee, I want all of them now!! Your make up looks flawless!! ❤

I definitely recommend to try the eyeshadows first and their blushes! 👌😌
And Rose Pink is such an unique colour! I have noting even close to being similar to it in my collection… Which is quite consistent! 🙈🙊😁😘😘

Super thanks for the recommendation! I was just checking their website, who knows maybe I can trick myself into a cheeky purchase haha! They all look beautiful, hard to choose though! and what do you think about the foundation? Hate ordering stuff before swatching, but would be useful to know more about the formula and stuff. Super thanks dear! 🙂

Definitely you need to try on the foundations first! So you’d better swatch them in a store or at a counter! You can make the BB work but again the colour options are a bit confusing! So definitely recommend the same! Generally I would have the same recommendation for all base products: foundations, BB, concealer, powders, even bronzers…
What kind of formula is your fave? Sheers, high coverage, BB’s?…

Thats the thing, its always a bit of a risk so I will have to haunt that foundation down! 🙂 Something light to medium coverage is perfect for me. You have been super helpful and tickled my curiosity even more now, gotta get down to that beauty shopping list soon hehe! Good night pretty! x

Then I definitely recommend the last’s year release Glow BB something something ( I already reviewed on my blog ) and the Sheer Foundation.
Please let me know what were your picks! 😁😉
Have a good night yourself lovely and a fun day tomorrow! Lots of xx

You’re so welcome Annie! I really like blushes that are more toned-down colors with being so light myself. I definitely can appreciate simple, soft makeup. 🙂 I am doing pretty good thank you! Lots of xxx and I hope you are well too!! ❤

Soft makeup is definitely my go-to type of makeup when it comes to blushes and eyeshadows too! It’s so easy to do and looks good and classy on everyone regardless of the skin colour! 👌😌
I’m fine too thanks for asking lovely! 😊

Yeah I completely agree with you. I mean sometimes it’s fun to do a more dramatic look for a special night out but my go-to is always more on the natural look side. Glad to hear that you’re doing well. Lots of xx 🙂

I’ve always loved pink makeup! And I didn’t get the idea why ladies shy away from it most times until I properly got into makeup and saw a couple of fails! 🙊🙈😁
I love a soft pink on the eyes! Nothing too dramatic though! 😉
Maybe it’s the eyeshadows too! The colours are toned down and not candy-like pinks! 😅

The colours are gorgeous, the formula is beyond incredible – as expected from Burberry…
But I’m done with buying Burberry and Charlotte Tilbury eyeshadows! I will start concentrating on TF quads and try to build myself up a nice collection too! 😉

Such pretty colors, but I’m not sure that I would actually wear them. I have a bit of natural redness on/around my eyelids and I don’t like to emphasize it.
LikeLiked by 1 person
Hi lovely! I have the same issue too and they didn’t emphasised it! I personally think it’s only urban mythology that pinks and reds will make you look even more red and tired! LOL
I always neutralise the redness in my skin anyway with a balanced foundation ( a neutral shade ), same goes for my concealer/corrector and this is the final result! 😊
It’s also a matter of how bright are the colours you use! These are toned-down, which will make the look approachable!
It is also a matter of taste! 😁 But this is my personal opinion!
