With the Fashion Month coming to an end, it’s time to do our balance!
I already told you what were, in my opinion, the highlights for the London Fashion Week in this post here!
The most anticipated show, again – in my opinion, from Paris Fashion Week was the Dior Pret-à-Porter A/W 2015/2016 Collection. I simply knew the makeup genius of Peter Philips will shine again! And I wasn’t disappointed!

The A/W Makeup Collection is called The Cosmopolite, out by the end of this Summer and here is the look he came up with after a short brief with designer Raf Simons…

Makeup used:
EYES:
The eyes were the focus of the entire look. The eyeshadows were applied wet for a more intense colour, with a shape that reminincens the animal prints you can see in the materials used by Raf for his creations.
– eye palettes used: Dior 5 Colours Eyeshadow Palette in #766 Exubérante ( new ), a palette built with 5 neutral tones with a metallic blue pop of colour and #866 Éclectique ( new ), an eyeshadow palette made with colder tones of khaki, plum, purple-red and a pop of silver at its heart
– for the lashes he used the Dior Lash Maximizer, layered ( at least 3 layers ) with the Dior Diorshow Mascara in Black, for an increased fake lash effect.
– the lashes were accentuated even more with the use of Dior Pro Liner in Black to get a very graphic eye with an animal print inspired shape.
FACE:
– base/foundation Dior Diorskin Star for a flawless, luminous complexion ( full review on it, here )
– a touch of powder if/when needed Dior Diorskin Nude Air Loose Powder
– blush/highlight the Cosmopolite Palette ( out this Autumn), a blush-highlight with a golden-ivory tone, to accentuate skin’s radiance even more.
In the picture above you have the absolute new product which will launch this Autumn too. It’s called Dior Fix It and it’s part of their Dior Professional Backstage line along with the Lash Maximizer, Pore Minimizer, Glow Maximizer, the Dior Lip Glow Colour Reviver Balm and the Lip Mazimizer, previously reviewed here. It’s the combination between a balmy product and makeup product, a concealer. It can be used for the eye contour area, to diminish or cover small flaws. Peter Philips used it for touch ups over the makeup too, when he needed to cover up more the dark circles of the models. It will be available in 3 convenient shades.
LIPS:
– he also used the new Dior Fix It, obtaining natural lips that didn’t dettract attention from the overall look.
NAILS:
– for the nails he used 5 different nail polish shades: Nuit 1457 – a burgundy colour previously reviewed here, Cosmopolite – a rosewood shade ( new ), Métropolis – a khaki shade ( new ), Darling Blue – a metallic blue shade ( new ) and Black Out ( new ).

What do you think about this Dior Autumn Makeup Collection? Very Autumnal, right? Do you have your eyes on something in particular? Please share!
See you soon, beautiful!
xx, Annie
INTERESTING FACTS:
– * the asymmetry in Raf Simmons’ creations was reflected in the manicure of the models as well. So, according to the model’s hand that carried the bag, they started to alternate the manicure with one hand painted in black and the other in black. Like this each girlhad a different manicure on each hand, the visual effect being a real asymmetric success.

I love the shape of the eyeshadow applied wet! I’m going to have to try that someday.

Hi lovely Martha! Thank you for stopping by and for the lovely comment!
I can’t wait to see the look you come up with! 😉
And yes, this is another fully successful look Peter Philips created! The wet usage of these eyeshadows, I think is the best idea to see them at their full potential!

Awesome post, Annie!! I didn’t realize all that went into the conceptualization of this look. I do see the animal-print shape around the eyes now that you point it out! Additionally, when I watched the show, I just saw dark above the eyes. I didn’t realize that these were actually vibrant colors. Andy quickly commented as the show began that he didn’t care for the heavy eye makeup, but within a couple minutes was changing his tune. It’s a look for sure!
Thanks for sharing the details and all the photos with us! Bisous, ma belle! À bientôt!

Bonjour ma belle! Yes the makeup look turns out to compliment so well Raf’s creations and the best part is that even if it’s not a sophisticated look at all it has such a great impact on the overall look!
It’s the less wearable makeup look from all the ready-to-wear presentation though, if you ask me… But the colour range they used is gorgeous and so Autumn appropriate!
You’re most welcome my lovely! I’m happy you enjoyed it!
Lots of bisous!

Oh! Ans I absolutely love the fact that they used the eyeshadows wet like this we got to see how they look at their full potential!
Don’t think I’ll use them like this though! Maybe instead of the classic black eyeliner…
BTW, which eyeshadow palette caught your attention?
Beaucoup des bisous!

Frankly speaking, I expected more wow factor considering it’s Spring/Summer, sadly it’s not something I have not seen in some version or the other… I love the Dior quality of makeup and usually every collection has something that’s hard to resist , I am still not sure about this one though. But I love the way eyeshadows are applied!

I agree! It might seem a bit boring… Maybe because of the cool-toned Autumn colours… And yes the way the colours were applied was my favourite also! Maybe that’s actually the “wow factor”! 😉xx

Hi Cass! Oh, I love me a graphic eye look too! Still waiting for the right occasion to wear it also! Haha!
I tried to wear the divergent liner, another graphic masterpiece signed Peter Philips, and I definitely saw a couple of eyebrows raised… Haha!
But tell me, which new product caught your attention?

LOL! Dramatic make up is just like couture, it looks amazing on the runway but you’d definitely get some weird stares on the street. I really like the 5 colour eye shadow pallet, particularly the purple shade, the pigments look so rich and solid!

Yup that’s just my first pick too! But I also love the other palette with that blue shade… I foresee it will be so hard to leave the counter with only one of the palettes! 😅😅😅

You know that Dior nail polish formula is my absolute favourite so I will definitely get me a nail polish… Or two! From the spring collection I only got Majesty, but from the Autumn collection I have my eyes on Black Out because I don’t have a good old black for my nails and Darling Blue because it’s such a different colour – even though I see it rather appropriate for a late summer than autumn…
I already have Nuit 1947 and it is probably my favourite dark nail polish!
I would rather love to get me the new Burberry nail polishes for fall though… Have you tried them yet? How they compare to the Dior formula?

Oh I love the eyes! Super runway, but I can see all of us wearing a toned down version 🙂 The colors are just amazing 😀 I am much more of an autumn person color wise, so I cannot wait for these to become widely available (to bad it means the weather will be awful).
Amazing post as usual hun,
xxx Anne

Yes, you’re right my lovely! The eyes are everything for this look! I’m excited to wear the eyeshadows too! Which palette is your favourite?
And you’re right! We won’t wear the same look… Not even the eyeshadows wet… Maybe as an eyeliner! But I agree! They sure do look amazing!

Silly question Annie, all of the eyeshadow palettes of course 😉 One of the models had a lovely green/blue peacock hue which I simply must have.

I know, right! I simply can’t decide on only one of those! I foresee that it would be a tough decision! Or a splurge… Since the blue you’re talking about comes in one palette and all the other gorgeous shades come in the other one… Marketing strategy much?! 😕

I love the eye look best with the dark blue eye shadow! Stunning colour!
The shape and the fact it’s not (or hardly?) blended out is unusual at first glance, but makeup knows no boundaries 🙂 Will you try out this look?

The blue one is my favourite too! Even though the palette I like better is the other one with the plum and khaki shades…
I don’t think I’ll actually wear it outside like this… But I will actually take and use the technique… I will use the eyeshadows wet ( when I’ll finally get my hands on the palette! ) and apply it as an exaggerated liner! That’s the max I can do out of this look!
How about you? Are you more brave than me and sport such a graphic look outside too?

Wouldn’t be surprised if you got both palettes 😀 😀
Ah yes, using it as an eyeliner sounds like a nice compromise! Hope you’ll post a pic of it 🙂
Mhm, perhaps I’d try it with a more subtle shade… ? 😀 It’s so cool to look at, but it takes some bravery to actually wear it outside.
Have a lovely evening! xx

Hmm… A more subtle shade?… What do you mean by that? Like a lighter colour or this same colour but less intense?

Yes, either a lighter colour or maybe some non-jewel shade.. that blue and purple look lovely, but they look even more intense with that non-blended shape 😀

I got it now! I’m sure the effect won’t be that bam! In your face! but definitely a more wearable one!👌😊
I don’t actually know if they blended the shade edges… You’re right they look kind of sharp in some pictures… But in some pictures I can definitely see a bit of a faint edge… They were applied with the little sponges in the palettes though… That’s right the same ones no one ever uses! No blending brushes were used… So I don’t know! 😕

Very interesting shades: I love both deep plums-purples and deep blues. I was sure Dior was going to launch something similar soon and I’m very curious to test both their new palettes and the loose powder. Don’t you think they revive a little bit a mineral loose powder Lancome lauched in the early two-thousands? I had it and the packaging looks pretty much the same. 🙂

The packaging is pretty similar but the formula is as different as it gets! Dior did a regular setting powder as Lancôme did a mineral one! Oh, well! Didn’t tried the Lancôme one… And OMG 🙀🙀🙀! Early 2000!? 🙀🙀🙀 That’s 15 years ago! Time really does fly! 😊
