FAIR WARNING!!! Brace yourself, because this is going to be EPIC!

I haven’t had this much fun playing Tag since the beginnings of annie’s beauty…! I already did a Lipstick Tag back then, and what I called “my lipstick collection” at that moment, has now transformed into something… let’s just call it “intense“!?

So thank you my lovelies bloggers and friends Katie, the creative mind behind Plus+ Beauty and Zoe from Zoe Beauty Blog for bringing back sweet memories from my early blogging days!

[ For Rules and all that boring stuff head over these girls blogs, read them there and make sure you say “Hi!”, from you… and from me as well! ]

[ To see my first Lipstick Tag, click here! ]

photo 4 copy

Now let’s do this!

The Questions:

1. How many lipsticks do you own?

First time I did this Tag I had and I quote: “35-ish”, after a Spring cleaning – which btw, I thought it was decent. Now, two Spring cleanings later and an Autumn one in between, I have to report that “35-ish” became A LOT more, an amount of lipsticks that’s outrageous to be owned by any women and it should be considered felony…

2. What was your first ever lipstick?

For the answer to this question I will have to cordially invite you to read my previous Lipstick Tag! It’s still the same answer!?!?!?

3. What is your most worn lipstick?

At the moment?…

The Charlotte Tilbury Coachella Coral and the NARS Audacious Lipstick in Juliette. And maybe Tom Ford Bare…

4. What is your favourite brand for lipsticks?

Tom Ford… to a pretty tie with Charlotte Tilbury.

5. What is your favourite finish?

I used to love creamy sheers, but now I adore the creamy, non-drying mattes like the Tom Ford Matte Lipsticks, the Charlotte Tilbury MATTE Revolution Lipsticks and finishes like the NARS Audacious Lipsticks.

6. What is the last lipstick you bought?

The Tom Ford Skinnydip and Rose Soleil from the Summer 2015 Soleil Collection, ( see the preview of it here ).

7. How many lip products do you currently have in your bag?

The Dior Balm Reviver, the Charlotte Tilbury Lip-Cheat Lip Pencil Pink Venus and the lipstick Coachella Coral, Tom Ford Sheer in Bare and Skinnydip… and that would be it!

8. What lipstick do you use to rock a red lip?

Now that’s the worst question of all! It should have been: “What lipstickS do you use to rock a red lip?” Because…

… I have Tom Ford Flame, Tom Ford Crimson Noir, Tom Ford Wild Ginger, Tom Ford Lips&Boys Alejandro and Adriano, Chanel Arthur, Charlotte Tilbury So Marilyn, Burberry Ruby, Dior Rouge #999, Givenchy Carmin Escarpin, Estée Lauder Impassioned, Giorgio Armani Rouge Ecstasy Downtown, Shiseido Laquer Rouge Drama… ( see swatches in the “Photo Gallery” – LOL?! – below )

To name a few!… Can you tell I love reds?!?!?!

You asked for it remember?!

9. How do you store your lipsticks?

The storage systems from Ikea still do all the hard work for me.

10. What lip products are you currently lusting over?

Some Gucci lipsticks and some Dolce and Gabbana Mattes ( see preview on those here ) would definitely tickle my senses!

So this is it for now!

I tag Jacquie ( use a nasal French accent while reading that! ), Janet and Josie, Serene and Anne ( I know you already did this Anne! ) to do this tag as well! And of course, everyone else who wants to!

I hope you had fun reading my version of The Lipstick Tag a.k.a. The Confessions of a Lipstick Hoarder Tag!

See you soon, beautiful!

xx, Annie

FOTD… Or how I wear my TOM FORD Bare Lip Sheer!…

Hi lovelies!

Since I haven’t posted a lip swatch when I first reviewed my Tom Ford Bare Lip Color Shine and many of you suggested a FOTD post, here you have it! As simple as it is!

image– Tom Ford Bare worn on “bare” lips!

The products you see in the first picture are almost all the products I used to achieve this look… Plus a few daily, trusty ones that I think won’t come as a surprise for those who followed me for a while!…

As a base I’ve tried something new this time! A combination of the already glowing Burberry Fresh Glow BB Cream, shade #01 Fair and the BECCA Cosmetics Shimmering Skin Perfector in Pearl! The final result was a healthy glowing complexion, slightly bronzed and sheer coverage! As natural as it can be, I told you! And I just used a bit of my NARS Creamy Concealer in Light2 Vanilla under the eyes and to cover some spots!

NO POWDER this time because I wanted to keep that beautiful healthy glow! NO HIGHLIGHTER was necessary either!

To maintain the “au naturel” theme I’ve started with, I HAVE NOT used BLUSH either! I just worked with the natural rosiness of my cheeks that peeked through my Burberry BB Cream! Loooved it!

Well, I still used a blush, but only to give a slight contour to my face! And for that I took out my Dolce & Gabbana Nude Blush which did an amazing job, don’t you think?

The eye makeup was also simple, made with only two colours: the By Terry Ombre Blackstars – #13 Brown Perfection smoked all-over the lid and #03 Blond Opal in the inner corners.

The brows were slightly filled in, following their natural shape with my Burberry Effortless Eyebrow Definer, shade #02 Sepia.

And Tom Ford Lip Color Shine, #05 Bare on the lips, applied straightly from the bullet! As I already told you in my actual review, on my pigmented lips Bare shows as a rosy-nude… Effect that  I definitely love! And check out those gorgeous sparkling bits!?!!!?!?!!!

But I also wear it differently…

image – Charlotte Tilbury Pillow Talk, aloneimage – Tom Ford Bare, on top of Charlotte Tilbury Pillow Talk

I slightly contour my lips using the Charlotte Tilbury Pillow Talk, which I blend really well with my fingers, then I apply my Tom Ford Bare on top of it and again, blend everything well! I absolutely love the shade of nude resulted! I think it flatters my complexion a lot!

And this is it!… An effortless, natural, versatile look I wore almost everyday lately!

I hope you enjoyed yet another of my “au naturel” FOTD‘s!

See you soon, beautiful!

xx, Annie

And remember!…

Makeup should never hide the complexion, it should reveal who you are!

The affordable goodies from my skincare routine Part 2: the FIRST AID BEAUTY

26 Tuesday May 2015

First Aid Beauty, First Aid Beauty Instant Oatmeal Mask, First Aid Beauty Ultra Repair Cream, review

image

There’s no secret how much I enjoy using the First Aid Beauty products as part of my skincare routine lately, both AM and PM.

[ To read about my complete nighttime skincare routine, click here; to read my previous First Aid Beauty post, click here ]

As a final step in my nighttime routine, after the Kiehl’s Midnight Recovery Concentrate Serum Oil I use this First Aid Beauty Ultra Repair Cream.

It’s a simple, white, not too thick face cream that sinks instantly into your skin and adds such a dramatic amount of hydration to it. The result is a glowing and plumped skin in a matter of minutes!

What else is amazing about this face cream… I discovered that it also prevents your skin from getting dehydrated, acting like a barrier that locks your skin moisture in throughout the day.

image

Now, I never kept a secret from the fact that I already managed to burn my face and arms, the first time I sat longer in the sunlight this year… I went fishing for a whole day and even if I did applied and reapplied sunscreen, it failed me gloriously! Being as fair as it can be I’m prone to getting sunburns and red skin rather than a beautiful, bronze goddess, flawless tan… and the minimal tan I manage to get also disappears by the end of Summer anyway!

Pont is: I got burned! What I did: I generously applied on my face the night serum from Kiehl’s and on top of that another generous amount of the First Aid Beauty Ultra Repair Cream, day and night and any discomfort, itchiness or redness instantly disappeared, NO peeling whatsoever! And I still have a bit of a tan… for the time being anyway!

So I definitely think that this combination worked miracles for my ( at that moment ) damaged skin and I definitely recommend both products! To be used together or separately…

In addition to my usual skincare routine, I like to throw in extra products according to whatever my skin needs at a certain moment. One of those type of products is also this First Aid Beauty Ultra Repair Instant Oatmeal Mask.

image

It is a 10 minute mask, perfect for one of those days when your skin is red and irritated, and doesn’t want to cooperate no matter what you do… Stubborn little thing!

So, I apply it like I do with any other mask, on freshly cleansed skin, avoiding the eye and lip area. It has a weird consistency… It sure feels like a lotion but it also has those oatmeal bits in it that makes it a bit rough! But it smells de-li-cious! Do you know the smell of a new cut-open bag of granola? That’s it! Yummy!

I leave it on for 10 minutes then I wash of any residues with a cloth and warm water! It leaves my skin glowing, while calms down and sooths my distressed skin.

As all First Aid Beauty products they are made from natural ingredients and are safe to use on sensitive skins!

What’s your favourite First Aid Beauty product! What are are your favourite skincare items/brands! What do you think I should try next?

See you soon beautiful!

xx, Annie

INTERESTING FACTS:

  • oatmeal masks are actually really good for calming down rough and irritating spots as well, and any inflammations might appear on the surface of your skin. That’s why it is recommended to add a hand or two of raw oatmeal flakes to your water when you’re taking a bath, soak in there for a couple of minutes… You’ll see results instantly!

  • you can also use the oatmeal flakes as a natural body scrub. You can use them by themselves or combined with natural oils of your choice, as a little DIY scrub. If used by themselves, just make sure you wet them before you rub your skin with them… For the obvious reasons!

Loving Nudes #7 TOM FORD Lip Color Shine in #05 Bare

How is is it possible for a shade of lipstick designed mainly to make your lips disappear to be so sensual and appealing at the same time?! This will be one of those paradoxes of the beauty world that I won’t be able to explain… Ever!

In today’s post I decided to take a break from all the bright, Spring appropriate lipsticks and go back to the basics with another nude… A nude with a twist this time… A sheer nude – the Tom Ford Lip Color Shine, in shade #05 Bare.

With Summer just around the corner and with this amazing selection of sheer lipsticks out there at the moment ( Dior, By Terry, Chanel, Lancôme… just to name a few big brands ), I find myself reaching more for this type of finish lately.

image

Bare is definitely a true nude beige shade, a sheer nude with gold and neutral shimmer particles that help brighten your complexion and give your lips a fuller, plumped look.

It glides on really smoothly and since it’s such a neutral colour it can be easily applied on the go, without a mirror. Because this is such a forgiving shade and formulation, and although precision is always nice, with these type of lipsticks I think precision is not necessary. So this one has been living inside my bag lately and I always take it out for rapid touch ups.

This goes on my lips as a nude but because of its sheerness and the pigmentation of my lips, it tends to change to a gorgeous, gorgeous nude-y, rosy, fabulous, everyday colour…

image

The Lip Color Shines by Tom Ford are by all means no new release. They came up at the beginning of 2013, in a selection of 10 lovely shades. I already owned, loved and used almost completely another Lip Shine, in #02 Smitten. And of course I already have a review on it here, with more details about its composition, colour range, and a lovely comparison with my other favourite sheer lipsticks, the Chanel Coco Shines.

With every Summer Collection Tom Ford changes the iconic packaging of these Lip Shines from mahogany and gold to a glorious and sensual ivory and gold, re-promoting old shades and adding new ones as well, in a Limited Edition to lust over… You will see a full review on this year’s Tom Ford Summer 2015 Soleil Collection Lip Color Shine Lipsticks later on my blog. [ Update: for the review on the Tom Ford Shines click here ]

What about you lovelies? Do you change your lipsticks with the seasons as well?

See you  soon, Beautiful!

What is Farfetch‘s Fashion’s New Wave Inforgraphic?

It’s a work of art that takes a closer look at 10 emerging underground trends and translates them into the most beautiful illustrations, depicted with the funniest colours. It was carefully curated by fashion professionals at Farfetch London, the same “wizards” who create bespoke content for fashion and beauty bloggers.

This Infographic is based on serious ethnographic research and it is essentially an illustrated guide on how to do style differently… How to create stylish looks based on trends and how to be unique at the same time! It focuses on a niche of emerging trends and styles that have been quietly developing within the luxury fashion sector over the past couple of years. These styles have not yet “caught” on the mainstream, and they can be considered fashion-forward styling concepts that have been adopted by fashion leaders worldwide rather than mass followers.

The trends:

  1. Gender Neutral – Androgynous Silouette, men clothes are no longer exclusively for men
  2. The New Layering – Ways with Layering, play more with textures and colours to take out of the anonymous any outfit
  3. One Ear Rules – One earring Trend that will make the most visible, instant statement
  4. Flat-Out – Preference for Flat Shoes like trainers and flats to make an outfit count
  5. Chain Reaction – Sunglasses Chains for a more sophisticated look
  6. Bag It Up – Bag Layering, would you dare to be that different?!
  7. The Untamed – Shaggy Bob, a fun hair do to make you look effortlessly chic in every situation
  8. Warhol Wonders – Random Packaging Bag; Warhol is not one for the uninitiated… “His works explore the relationship between artistic expression, celebrity culture and advertisement that flourished by the 1960s” ( source: Wikipedia ).
  9. Make-Up Minimalism – Minimal Makeup Flash of Colour. By the nature of my personality, that you already came to know and what my blog is about, you’ll know that I’m one for natural makeup with flashes of colour that enhance natural beauty. Nothing more beautiful than that!
  10. Laid-Back Luxe – Shirt Around the Waist to make you look younger and effortlessly chic

I’m sure you’re aware of most of these trends already! What do you think? Will they make it to the main stream? Which one is your favourite? Please share it in the comments below and have a nice chat about it!

And since Farfetch‘s philosophy is based on originality, the creativity of the individual and his ability of taking something that’s mass accepted and filter it through his own personality rather than taking it in as it comes, then make it his own – here you have the

#UNFOLLOW Campaign…

NARS Radiant Creamy Concealer in shade Light2 Vanilla – review

Finally! The time to write down my two-thoughts on the infamous NARS Radiant Creamy Concealer has arrived!

I have it in shade Light2 Vanilla, a shade that matches perfectly my skin tone. But you also have 10 more shades to choose from, if your skin tone is different than mine!

I love this concealer because it gives me such a flawless finish and it’s probably my most favourite concealer I own in terms of consistency as well! And if applied correctly, this won’t crease up and it will definitely hold in place for quite a long time!

It is truly opaque for the light consistency it has, which automatically means a higher coverage! And it is so creamy and easy to blend.

image

How I apply it:

I use it mainly on my face to cover up my redness, spots or discolouration – if I have any. For spots I use the pin-point concealing technique, as seen on Lisa Eldridge‘s countless makeup tutorials. I apply it with a smaller, more precise brush, the Hakuhodo G 5513 then blend it out with one of the eye blending brushes also from my Hakuhodo collection, the J 5533.

I prefer this type of application for under the eyes as well! I look into the mirror straightforward, identify the dark areas, then apply a tiny amount of concealer with a smaller brush and blend it out with one of my eye blending brushes! If I need more coverage, which usually doesn’t happen too often since I also have a layer or foundation that I applied previously ( lately my foundation of choice has been another NARS favourite, the All-Day Luminous Weightless Foundation in shade #03 Gobi), I add again a small amount and blend it!

A little goes a long way and there’s absolutely no need to pile up “industrial” amounts of product which would probably crease and slide all-over anyway and accentuate your tired features! ( read more about that in my previous post: 10 common Makeup Mistakes ).

The under-eye area is not my favourite place to apply the NARS Radiant Creamy Concealer though! Because if I apply it without thoroughly moisturizing that area, it would crease in a matter of hours and settle in whatever fine lines I might have there! On covering anything else on my face, it is the best!

image

OVERALL THOUGHTS: light consistency with a surprisingly high coverage, creamy, blends effortlessly, matches my skin tone to perfection, more than decent staying power! 100% potential to become my holy grail concealer!

It made it to so many of my FOTDs on Instagram ( the pic below is the most recent post, from Sunday ) and here on the blog that I can’t but recommend it!

image

See you soon, beautiful!

xx, Annie

Makeup should never hide the complexion, it should reveal who you are!

My BURBERRY Sheer Eyeshadows. Part II: Earthy Browns – #06 Almond and #23 Dark Sable – review, swatches, comparisons and dupes

annie's beauty... BURBERRY makeup

Today I’m bringing you the second part of my Burberry Sheer Eyeshadows mini-series, one where I present you two amazing earthy-brown shades, unique and of exceptional quality, as all things Burberry.

Here you have the Burberry Sheer Eyeshadows in #02 Almond and #23 Dark Sable.

And if you missed out on the first part of this collection, here you have the link to some gorgeous nudes.

image

#06 Almond is another subtle amazing colour from the Burberry Sheer Eyeshadow range that it is the most appropriate for those who are looking for a natural, no fuss, everyday makeup look.

It is a lovely medium brown shade, with some warm golden undertones and the most discreet, finest sheen ever that doesn’t even translate to the eyelid.

It is one of the most versatile eyeshadows in my collection! I used it by itself,   all-over the lid for a quick look, blended out, layered for a deeper look… and as a bronzer! Yes, my fair skin allowed me to use it to define and warm up my face a little, without overreacting though because I was afraid it might turn too orange on me! I wore it the most as it is meant to be used, as an eyeshadow, paired with #02 Trench, from the same Burberry Sheer range, for a soft neutral look.

image

As you can see it is really pigmented, but it can be easily sheered out. In the picture above you have it swatched heavily to see it at its best next to a couple more shades from my collection that I think they look really similar!

A you can see the colour #2 Enhance from the Charlotte Tilbury The Sophisticate Palette is a bit warmer than Almond. MAC‘s Cork is the closest in colour and finish if you ask me, because I can sense the same warmth and a bit of sheen in both. And there is Wedge which is a bit colder, with ever so slightly taupe-ish undertones, but pretty close to Almond as well.

image

Next I have another gorgeous earthy-toned eyeshadow, #23 Dark Sable.

Dark Sable is a gorgeous dark cool brown shade, and compared to Almond this one has, without any doubt a matte finish. It might don’t look like too much in the pan, but this is one of those colours that blends so beautifully and effortlessly, and I sure hope you can also detect the slight khaki and olive-green undertones of this eyeshadow, that makes it so different from all the browns I own in my collection. It is the perfect colour to add some depth to any look and to transform it from day to night.

image

And as you can easily see, I have quite a few browns to compare it with!

From all the shades here I find it to be the closest in colour and finish to Charlotte Tilbury The Sophisticate #3 Smoke and MAC‘s Espresso, only that Espresso has more warm undertones to it! When blended, By Terry Brown Perfection turns out to be pretty similar in colour, but the shimmering finish of that one will blow you away for sure. That’s not the case with Dark Sable though. NARS Cordura Eyeshadow Duo has a deep brown pretty similar when it transfers on the lids to Dark Sable, but with little specs of gorgeous, holographic glitters. And another option would be the deep brown colour from the Dior 5 Colours Palette #609 Earth Reflexion, which is basically the same colour in a satin finish.

As I said in my previous post, My BURBERRY Sheer Eyeshadows. Part I: Pretty Nudes – #02 Trench and #22 Pale Barley – review, swatches, comparisons and dupes these eyeshadows are made of a soft, finely mild powder that literally adheres to the lid with just one touch of the brush! I definitely advise you to tap the excess when using darker colours, like Dark Sable though!

What do you think about these two shades beautiful? Have you used any Burberry Sheers until now, or those new formula eyeshadows they came up with at the beginning of this year ( see review on those new ones I own this far here )?

What dupes would you recommend for Almond and Dark Sable?

See you soon, beautiful!

xx, Annie

10 most common MAKEUP MISTAKES

10 common Makeup Mistakes, beauty blender/sponge applicator, concealer, contour, eyebrows, highlighter, lashes, lips, powder

image

Today I am in the mood for a different blog post, a more rambly one!

So relax, grab a cup of tea and some macaroons and enjoy today’s 10 most common MAKEUP MISTAKES article!

First of all, a little disclaimer… I’m not a makeup artist and most of these mistakes were “thoroughly tested” by myself as well… Nobody’s perfect! But we can always improve ourselves, right?

But if any of the things I consider “mistakes” work wonders for you, by all means do whatever works best for you! To each their own! After all makeup is such a versatile and personal field… Nothing is set in stone!

This being said, let’s move on to the “lovely”…

MAKEUP MISTAKE #1: YOU DON’T WET YOUR BEAUTY BLENDER/SPONGE APPLICATOR BEFORE USING IT

Sponge applicators are a common thing in the beauty world for quite a while now! They’re no longer one of the well kept secrets of professional makeup artists! The beauty community seems to love them… But everybody is using them wrong!

You HAVE TO USE your beauty sponge WET when you apply your makeup, beauties!

With a wet sponge the application is the closest to flawless and the liquid already absorbed by the sponge will prevent it from taking in all the product you’re using. So you won’t feel like you’re wasting your foundation anymore.

The whole purpose of a makeup blender is to help your foundation, concealer/whatever makeup product you’re applying with it, mimic a natural layer of skin with a makeup application. By using it dry you’ll only limit the surface the sponge is touching your face with – because when wet, a beauty sponge will almost double its size, which saves you time! Without any moisture in the sponge the application will be patchy, your foundation will look heavy, everything won’t be buffed into your skin as it should and you won’t have that fresh, natural, I’m-not-wearing-makeup look.

MAKEUP MISTAKE #2: CONCEALER BEFORE FOUNDATION

Why don’t you just apply foundation first and when you did that take a step back, look into the mirror and see if you still need more coverage!? If you do, then use your trusty concealer… But please, use it only where you need it! Pinpoint concealing, Lisa Eldrige… Does that ring a bell anyone!?

Point is: why cake up your face with countless layers of products you often don’t even need!? Try to hide your imperfections by using thin layers of products only where you need it, and most important IF you really need it!

Also keep in mind that is no such thing as flawless skin! What you call imperfections make yourself look like… well, yourself?!

Related to that here is

MAKEUP MISTAKE #3: SLAPPING ON TOO MUCH CONCEALER

image

– the Kardashian way of doing your makeup that is! I bet you know what I’m talking about! If you’re doing your makeup like this on a daily basis, you should know that this is a technique used mostly by drags, who let’s get serious, do have a lot to hide! NO OFFENSE there anyone!

I really find that with this technique you’re wasting product, cake your face, because everybody will definitely notice that you have too much going on under your eyes, and it’s so likely to get the opposite effect by looking even more tired and walk around all day with a “lovely”, accentuated pair of bags and dark circles!

[ I definitely agree on the bag thing, but only if they’re Chanel! ]

Again, use concealer where and if you need it! And remember, a little goes a long way!

Maybe this is MAKEUP MISTAKE #4: USING TOO MUCH PRODUCT

image

– too much product would only cake up your face, make you look unnatural and probably somewhere in the middle of the day your makeup will crease and slide all-over… So yeah! Use only the amount of makeup to serve your needs! And apply it by building it up in thin layers!

And here since we’re talking about the “Kardashian makeup”…

MAKEUP MISTAKE #5: OVER-CONTOURING YOUR FACE

… on a daily basis. Unless you’re shooting a pictorial or you’re filming something I don’t see why you should use a heavy contour. Especially if your face is already harmoniously sculpted… Why ruin Nature’s work of art by taking a contour product in a striking colour, from the hollows of your cheeks all the way down to the corners of your mouth?! And most of all, why draw a harsh line without even blending it out and make it look as natural as possible?

[ I plan on doing a whole post on natural contouring soon. What do you think? Would you be interested in reading that? ]

MAKEUP MISTAKE #6: OVER-REACTING WITH POWDER

imageimageimage– Say hi to Casper the Friendly Ghost 😂😂😂

Everybody is preaching how setting your makeup with a good powder – mandatory a matte one – is. But why even do that when our skin is naturally dewy anyway?! Why slap a powder all-over your face to make it unnaturally matte… and here comes the silly part – then to come again with another product, the highlighter, to bring that glow back in!?

Do powder, by all means! And especially if you’re having oily skin, but do that by dusting it strategically, in the places you know tend to get oilier during the day: t-zone, chin, forehead…

[ *hint*hint* Hourglass does a glorious one! ]

MAKEUP MISTAKE #7: EXAGGERATED HIGHLIGHTING

I love my highlighters, but I do think that they are the trickiest makeup products to use… Ever! You must be careful how much you apply and where you apply it, unless you don’t want to look like a disco ball in action!

If you have large pores on your face, or visible scarring avoid very pigmented highlighters with lots of shine to them! Go for a highlighting/finishing powder instead, it has the right amount of “light” and applied only in the high points of your cheeks, bridge of the nose, cupid bow will make you look naturally amazing… It won’t accentuate any of your flaws!

MAKEUP MISTAKE #8: CURLING YOUR LASHES AFTER APPLYING YOUR MASCARA

NEVER EVER do that because you’re so highly at risk of pulling your poor and innocent lashes off and end up with some “glorious” bald patches… Is this the only way you know to make your lashes stay curled and flare out!? I definitely don’t believe you! DO invest in a good eyelash curler and a waterproof mascara, and read the how-to in a post I already wrote, here.

MAKEUP MISTAKE #9: DRAWING “THE PERFECT” EYEBROW

imageimageimage– Holy Brow! Whatcha doin’ gal?! 🙀😅*faints*

I die when I see all-over the Internet those specific types of brows done again, with a technique borrowed from the drag makeup. A VERY defined brow, that takes 5 minutes to realise, usually in a darker colour that it should be, “seasoned”  with concealer and highlighter, and with a shape that draws so much attention that you don’t even see the if there’s even other makeup on that face or not ( unfortunately there is, and usually as obvious as it can be I’m afraid! )…

That won’t be a winner in my books! And I mean NEVER!

MAKEUP MISTAKE #10: NOT USING A LIP SCRUB AND A MOISTURISER BEFORE APPLYING YOUR LIPSTICK

This is a common mistake and I already talked about it in this previous blog post: Red Lips, Dark Lips – DO’s and DON’Ts. So make sure you click on the link to read why to stop doing Mistake #10 and what you should do instead!

So here you have 10 Makeup Mistakes I could think of right now, my lovelies!

Is it just me who thinks of these as mistakes or you’re on the same page as me?

Oh, and is there something else that you consider a MAKEUP MISTAKE and I didn’t mentioned it here? Please let me know!

Also let me know if you like these chatty posts and if I should do them more often! Your feedback is most welcomed and deeply appreciated!

As always thanks for reading and…

See you soon, beautiful!

I’m here today with a new post on the amazing Charlotte Tilbury K.I.S.S.I.N.G Lipsticks. They are Coachella Coral, Velvet Underground and So Marilyn and you have to admit that there is a colour for everyone.

image[ I know you see five lipsticks in this picture but I already wrote a review on the nude ones that I own, Confession and Stoned Rose. Still, check out how they glisten in those sun beams! Preeetyy! ]

They are part of Charlotte Tilbury‘s K.I.S.S.I.N.G Fallen From The Lip Stick Tree signature lipstick range inspired by modern icons like Kate Moss, Cara Delevigne, Adriana Lima etc.

The Fallen From The Lip Stick Tree lipstick collection contains an innovative anti-oxidant from The Lipstick Tree* that naturally protects lips from sun radiations and external pollution factors and leaves your lips cashmere soft and irresistible. Created with a blend of special waxes they allow a smooth application over the contours of your lips. The light-diffusing pigments will impact an amazing luminosity, to your lips capturing the light and reflecting it back in such a clever manner that your lips will be “pert”, full-bodied” and “ultra-brilliant”.

image

Now let’s get to the fun part!

Coachella Coral is an amazing soft coral, lovely for Spring and for those who are a bit scared of wearing them! This one has to be one of my favourites colours for this Spring and I’m enjoying it more than everything else lately!

Looks kind of similar with one of the Charlotte Tilbury MATTE Revolution Lipsticks I also love and wear a lot, for the same reasons! I’m talking about Amazing Grace!

image – Coachella Coral

Velvet Underground is another colour I enjoy wearing lately! It’s the brightest and the”naughty” one from all the K.I.S.S.I.N.G. shades I own! Oh, and I love it so! It reminds me of my fairly recent and well loved NARS Audacious Lipstick in Michiyo. It’s pretty close to that, just a bit more muted and less fuchsia though.

Velvet Underground is definitely a bright fuchsia pink; what tempers it are the cold blue undertones that give it a more soft and “serious” look! Great, unique colour!

And of course, I had to have the gorgeous red – So Marilyn! Such an amazing name!

So Marilyn is such a timeless, classy and universal shade! You were looking for a retro red, THE red to have in your collection… Search no more because this is it! This classic cool-toned red colour is everything you were looking for! You know my #obsession with reds, so I definitely had to add it to my ever-growing lipstick collection! Plus, it wears the name of one of the most beautiful women on the planet, Marilyn Monroe!

The quality is the same Charlotte Tilbury had us used with already: rich pigmentation, opaque colour coverage in just one swipe, it goes on evenly and smoothly dressing the lips with the most beautiful satin finish. And the packaging is absolutely fabulous! ( scroll up to have another look at them! )

A real pleasure to wear these lipsticks and even to just stare at them, in an uncontrollable awe!

Have you tried them lovely? Which colours you loved the most?

See you soon, beautiful!

xx, Annie

INTERESTING FACT:

-*The Lipstick Tree it’s an actual plant which can be found in the subtropical climates of the Amazonian rainforest.

  • “this plant’s vibrantly coloured seeds have traditionally been used by indigenous people to make body paint – giving it the name ‘lipstick tree’ in English. But, in Brazil, it’s more often called urucum, after the indigenous name given by the Tupi-Guarani people. Also used to dye clothes and to add flavour to food, the fruit of the lipstick tree is still widely-used in the Americas today.” ( Source: sky.com )
