Whoever said that only porcelain skins can pull off a bold, bright, red lip was terribly wrong!!!
I, myself, was one to think that the “Marylin Monroe look” suited pale skins better! But now that I have gained some ( unusual for me! ) tan and I finally managed to work with it in terms of makeup, I’m absolutely mesmerised by how well a bright red lipstick looks on paired with a simple, summery eye and a bit of a black liner!
So here you have it! THE red lipstick that will always be on my lips this Summer: the NARS Audacious Lipstick in Lana!
Now, I won’t bother you with all those technical details as I had a “marathon week” of blog posts dedicated exclusively to all the NARS Audacious Lipsticks I own ( and I only own 7?!, one for ebery day of the week! ), plus a resume with overall thoughts which I will link here for you to check out.
I will do tell you that Lana is the most beautiful “vivid orange red”*, the excellent bright orange-red lipstick with warm undertones and a satin finish, as you can hopefully see in these pictures.
And I’m thankful to my lovely friend Michelle for being so kind and generous and getting this one for me! See lovely?! I’m rocking it! Haha!

I love MAC’s Relentlessly Red lipstick for warmer months! It’s very matte so I can’t wear it all the time but it’s a very bold color! I hope you have a great week too 🙂

I really like Anna. But I got the lumiere colourpop lippie and its a close dupe. The color weirdly makes my lips look bigger.

yes, orange-reds can be a bit tricky to pull off! they can make your skin look funky, your teeth look yellow!
but there’s something particular about this Lana that doesn’t do that at all!
maybe it’s the fact that it’s almost a neon orange-red!?!?!???… I don’t know!

I don’t really wear reds often but a true red I like is from Elizabeth Arden called Poppy. It’s a brighter red shade perfect for warmer weather! 😊

I haven’t tried the Nars Audacious lipsticks yet. I want to so badly. I love Lana and Audrey. I actually don’t have a favorite red lipstick but I definitely gravitate more towards orange/reds rather than blue/reds.

Yes, Insta is a bit easier to keep up with for sure; it’s Twitter though that I just can’t seem to get into, lol. My favorite color for summer at the moment is actually two YSL lip products I picked up over the weekend. The glossy stain in #7 and the Gloss Volupte in 203. Both are coral based colors that are so pretty! Absolutely love!

Oh no! Sorry to hear that. 😦 I’m a huge fan of these and they took the place of my recent Chanel lipstick purchases. Sadly the two Chanel lipsticks were too sheer and for the price, I decided it wasn’t worth it. Until I do more research on Chanel, I’m happy with YSL. Of course Chanel has my heart with the VA foundation. Yes, I plan on doing a summer lipstick must have edition or something like that so you’ll see swatches. 🙂

Lol! I’m actually more of a Facebook person. How funny. I feel like Twitter is a fast paced version of Facebook, albeit with a little less drama but I really haven’t kept up. I link my posts so it will upload there but I log in maybe once every one or two weeks. Crazy, right? I may get the hang out it later but for now, I won’t let it stress me out like before.

Yes, i actually sometimes prefer lipgloss than lipsticks and sheer is nice but these were like no difference in my lips whatsoever. I mean $30+ for colors that looks like a clear gloss just didn’t cut it for me. There are sheer lippies I’ve tried that have some color but these I had to swipe on like 6-7 times to try to get a color.

I know lovely! the Chanel Coco shines used to be my favourite ever sheer lipsticks and I used to wear them everyday! but I discovered that there were just better options out there!
still love the ones I own though! 😉

Yes, I think a good TF lipstick staple. I have plenty of bright lipsticks at the moment so maybe skip those unless they are super unique. I’ve heard great things about Pink Dusk and Vanilla Suede.

I, personally, am not the biggest fan of Vanilla Suede because it gives me that corpse vibe – you know what I mean! but I do have Pink Dusk and I almost finished it! that much I love it! I’d rather go for Blush Nude instead of Vanilla Suede, it’s also along the same lined but without the “looking dead” part! 😉

Hm, I really like “Purty Persimmon” by wet n wild (V from SayhellotoGorgeous also recently wore this for her 10 Day MU Challenge) and “Vibrant Mandarin” by Maybelline.. the latter one is really bright :O Even though I’ve worn it a couple of times already, I always feel as if I have to “overcome” myself to wear it.. but then I realise I love the shade once it’s on my lips LOL 😀

Yes it is different! I really love it! It looks beautiful on you! I had a nice evening last night. Ron and I went out to dinner. As for my pics they’re not taken with a professional camera or something, but with a regulat iPhone, in direct daylight! And I use a bit of the basic Fotor to “polish” them a bit! Nothing else! 😉😁xx

My favorite one is the Russian red from MAC. Although I find that MAC lipsticks are a little hard to apply …but the result is always great 🙂
