With the Season of the Highlighters in its full force, there’s nothing more chic than a double-duty, dainty, beauty to-go essential product! This is the Kevyn Aucoin Creamy Glow Duo, a beautiful little compact containing the cult favourite, powerful pair of the Candlelight highlighter and the Sculpting powder in shade #4 Medium, both in cream form this time!
#4 Medium is made with brown, grey and red pigments that create the look of a natural medium shade shadow, excellent to use on medium and fair skin tones like mine! Now I have a bit of a tan on and it works just fine as well!
It looks like this medium earthy brown with a subtle grey in it, but dark enough when layered ( as you can see in the swatches below! ), an ashy brown that translates more of a subtle shadow. It blends so well and its almost impossible to go wrong with because it gives such a natural look! And doesn’t lean orange no matter how much you apply, as the shade Sculpt from my Charlotte Tilbury Filmstar Bronze & Glow tends to do!
Candelight, the highlighting shade is an absolutely glorious champagne colour with a luminous golden sheen to it given by such finely milled particles of shimmer, that don’t translate as obvious on the cheeks but this gorgeous pearl shimmer without being sparkly or glittery. Just that angelic/hallo effect/glow-from-within look everybody’s talking about!
It’s pretty similar but a tiny bit more golden than my other all-time favourite highlighter the Hourglass Ambient Lighting Powder in Incandescent Light – which is a powder, less obvious and golden than the Highlight shade from the Charlotte Tilbury Filmstar Bronze and Glow, and the most similar with a recent discovery of mine in terms of highlighters – the BECCA Shimmering Skin Perfector in Moonstone.
Now a few words on the formulation!
This is one of the most amazing cream formulas I have ever tried! Rubbed for a couple of seconds between your fingers, it transforms into this thin, velvety-soft, extraordinary emollient consistency that is so easy to apply on bare skin, on foundations and even over powder! It won’t cause any slipping and sliding or accentuate imperfections!
I used my fingers most of the times and I loved the final result! But with a small, synthetic, stippling brush it works just as well…
Why have I underlined the word “small”?! Well because this duo comes in the smallest pans I saw a contour or a highlight product to come in! You might have troubles using your regular size/usual contour and highlight brush, but with a bit of an effort you can make that one work as well!
And trust my words, that’s a lot of pay off from that little extra-effort you put in as these two are absolutely worth every penny you pay for them!
And like all things Kevyn Aucoin I mostly saw online, as this is the first item I have ever tried but definitely not the last!, the decadent garnet packaging gives away the air of an incredibly glamorous makeup item, making makeup application an absolute pleasure!
Have you tried anything from Kevyn Aucoin, lovelies? What’s your favourite product?
See you soon, beautiful!
xx, Annie
I haven’t tried any of his items (yet). I’d love to. They look great. I wonder who is curating for the deceased master of beauty. :o(
This duo looks and sounds fabu!!

Bonjour ma belle!
It’s good to have you back again! I’ve been missing you and can’t wait to see what goodies you have for me on your blog! 😌👌🏼
This is just an amazing product! So easy to use and low maintenance as well! I love the highlighter more than anything else!
Well, I’m getting into creams more and more these days! It sounds a bit strange that I’m liking creams in the hotter months when they’re more likely to slip and slide, more than in the colder months when it’s less likely for that to happen! But what I have tried this far has an amazing quality and stays put on my face until I take my makeup off, without major touch ups! 👌🏼😌✨ Stellar quality! This Duo included!

Haha! I can swear on Celestial highlighter now that I have it and it replaced all my beloved highlighters! I’m curious to try the powder form to see if there’s any difference though! 😁😅
The Skin Enhancers are also next on my list along with their mascara which I’ve heard great things about, as well as their eyeshadows!
Thank you for reading, for the lovely feedback and for your constant support my lovely! It really means a lot! 🙏🏼😌

Hi lovely!
Everything you’ve heard about the KA Celestial Candelight and contouring products is absolutely true! They’re fabulous products!
This is my first time trying KA and I’m impressed as well! I can confirm everything they say about them it’s true and I can’t wait to try out more!
Whoaaa! That’s tough one as is love my CT Filmstar! I would say though that I love Candelight for a daily wear when the Highlight shade is more appropriate for an evening look! Though I had no issues wearing it all-day long since it’s simply a golden gorgeousness! 😅😅😅
I also love Medium from KA for contouring and the shade Sculpt from CT for bronzing.
Bottom line, for an everyday use I’d recommend the Glow Duo! For a night out I’d opt for the CT Filmstar!
I hope this rather chaotic explanation is somewhat helpful!
😅😅😅
Wishing you a lovely day!

Haha. So another case of, Blogger Made Me Buy It. Never fails. sigh I’m holding out for CT FSBG though which should be sold late August through Nordstrom. Thinking of getting that first since it might be LE and this one seems to be permanent right? Hope you have a great day Annie (or night depending when you read this).

oh! I’m the ultimate sucker when it comes to enabling LOLOL
yeah, the new CT cream Filmstar is LE indeed! but I have the feeling it will be permanent soon as well! after the launch of the new Filmstar for darker skin tones in Autumn or so!
I haven’t decided on what to get from the new CT Summer collection yet!

Aside from the cream CT FSBG (if I can get it), it pains me to say I will be skipping out on the rest of the collection. I’m sure all products are lovely but they are on the $$ and I’m trying to save so unless it’s something extremely unique, sadly I’ll pass. I’ll live through your posts though. 🙂

I don’t have the Clinique highlighter stick but I really love the contouring one. It looks natural on my. Goes on dark a first but once blended out, it great. No orange streaks or anything that look overly done. Subtle but does what it’s supposed to. 🙂

the same thing happens with the contour shade from my palette! looks pretty scary at first, but when blended out – which is not a big deal at all – it looks really really lovely! 😉 xx

I have this creamy glow duo as well as the Celestial Powder in Candlelight and the Sculpting Powder in Medium. I must say that I prefer the powders. I only use them in winter though; in summer I use my Charlotte Tilbury. I am tan complexioned so it doesn’t turn orange on me!

I’m a huge fan of powder products as well my lovely but after trying this out for a while, I have to admit that it’s one of the best creams I have ever tried!
I don’t have it for that long and since here’s summer now, I’m also impressed how long this lasts on me due the weather conditions! but yes, powders are my favourites to use in the colder months!
🙂 xx

I definitely want to try their powder versions as well because the powders that I own ( the Charlotte Tilbury Filmstar is a huuuuge favourite of mine as well! ) are amazing and want to compare the two at some point!
the CT Filmstar doesn’t turn orange on my usually pale skin either, IF used carefully! 😉

yeees, you little meanie! 😛 that’s such an unfair question! LOLOL
and to be honest I do prefer the KA for a day look! but I don’t think that there is something out on the market at the moment to beat the CT Filmstar on a nighttime/going out look!
that highlighter is simply glorious! also looks 1 million bucks on tan skin, in summer! 😉

Well that is fair enough 😀 I would probably use it most often at night anyway, so I might prefer the CT version 😀

wait and see the cream duo from the CT Norman Parkinson! from what I saw online the cream highlighter there is even more “dramatic” than the on in powder form! 😉 xx

and you’re definitely right! when blended the KA in Medium #4 is such a gorgeous, natural contour shade! what stops it from turning orange even on pale skins in the grey undertones in it!
definitely one to get!

but when I saw this little dinky, cuttest thing ever on SpaceNK online I told myself NOW is the right time! plus it was winter and the holidays and thought the sparkle is the thing! turned out even better! a gorgeous day highlight with an amazing contouring cream as well! haha! plus points for me! :D:D:D 😛 😉 xx

Very appropriate to a summer highlight and contour. I read a lot about KA products as well, and I admit I’ve been tempted many times, although I still need to get into the ‘highlight’ mood, which most of the times makes me think about oily shine due to combination skin. I know, it sounds weird, but…this is me 😀 😀 😀
