The YSL Rouge Pure Couture the Mates in #206 Grenat Satisfaction is an oldie but a goldie! I always tend to bust it out from the depths of my makeup drawers at this time of the year and it always gets the job done! It’s an excellent alternative to all those deep berry, purple shades and dark chocolate browns that seem to be my absolute favourites at the moment.
Grenat Satisfaction is a beautiful brown based burgundy red with a finish that has more dimension than your typical flat matte lipstick ( somewhere along the lines of a Tom Ford Matte Lip Color, Charlotte Tilbury MATTE Revolution Lipstick or even Estée Lauder‘s newest Pure Color Envy Matte… Less creamy than the NARS Audacious Lipsticks though! ). Like all the dark lipsticks that I’ve tried on lately, this is also one that can be applied lightly for just a hint of color on the lips or full-on for truly attention-getting results… Definitely, Grenat Satisfaction is another attention-seeker, like Desirous.
It is another one of those lightweight formulas ( which I really appreciate, thank you very much YSL! ) that applies evenly in a single swipe despite of the denser, very pigmented, matte consistency, being amazingly hydrating and comfortable to wear throughout the day. And when it fades, it does it in such a beautiful way leaving an even stain behind – as expected!
For those interested, it does not contain parabens or mineral oils in its formulation, but you might want to be aware that it is loaded with silicones, which are the ones being “guilty” for the remarkable application.
That I clearly have a tremendous weakness for dark lipsticks that’s no secret anymore, right!?… That is actually turning into a proper obsession – most likely! Definitely expect more in my upcoming blog posts!

this is a shade that was a repurchase for me! I had it a couple of years ago but I thought it was to aging on me so I passed it on to my Mom! now I saw it online and in some YT videos and my love for it hit me once more! that’s why I was saying that it’s an oldie but a goldie!

and it’s literally a goldie if you look at the beautiful golden packaging! even though I have to admit that the the packaging of the Volupte Sheers and Shines is waaay more spectacular than this one! this one has more of a retro vibe o it! 😉

Haha! I’ve always been the nude lip kind of girl! It even took me ages to muster the courage and wear a red lip in public… And I’m talking years here!

We’ll I don’t have it but I’m telling you you need Chanel Rouge Allure Rouge Noir 😀 From holiday collection 🙂 My fav dark lipstick is Chanel L’Adorée, but that was LE. And I’m loving Nars Cruella which is more of a deap dark red. I’m neutral to cool toned so I avoid reds with brown in them. xx

I’m loving MAC Media for a dark lippy! Erm I do love the lip stains to be honest but my fave from YSL lately is their touché Éclat foundation xxx

I don’t know what but for whatever reason I keep myself apart from YSL foundations! I don’t like the scent of these mainly…
I remember wanting the latest… That water based one… Ink somethings.. It came out with Dior Star… Sometimes near that date… And of course, I went for the Dior one! 😕
How’s the consistency of the Touche Éclat? The finish? Is it heavy duty – heavy coverage? Hoe does it blend?

I have the Dior Star too! I love the touche Eclat its my all time fave foundation now, its medium coverage but lasts all day and doesnt feel heavy! Blends easy it just sets perfect to my skin!
