Beautik Haute Parfumerie Bucharest, Maison Francis Kurkdjian, MFK, MFK Amyris femme, perfume, review, spring perfume
Family: Floral Oriental
Notes: lemon tree flowers, orange from California, amyris from Jamaica, iris from Florence, vetiver from Haïti and musky amber
With your thoughts flying to the exotism of the island of Jamaica and your heart living in the romantic city of Florence, Maison Francis Kurkdjian‘s Amyris Pour Femme dwells between the sunshine and the earth, being the magnificent creation of the two.
It’s a sublime perfume, the most sensual and feminine I have ever tried on! The sweet, delicate and slightly powdery scent of the amyris tree is doubled by the extremely delicate and rare scent of the orris rhizome – the two of them make the core of this perfume. They are brought together by the brightess and the freshness of the citrus notes, and the earthy touches of Haitian vetiver and the amber base give body and structure to this otherwise “common” floral perfume – the oriental twist, I personally love in my perfumes!
I’m usually loving strong and empovering scents all year round, and I’m not so keen on florals or fruitty ones! In summer I like fresh scents like Annick Goutal‘s Eau d’Hadrien!
Not too fresh, not too floral, not too deep… Amyris Pour Femme is the perfect balance of everything mentioned above, which makes it in my opinion utterly feminine and an excellent transitional perfume. And when we all celebrate femminity and everything that comes with it, other than during spring, when everything is brought to live again by Mother Nature?!
What’s your favourite spring scent?
Have you tried anything from Maison Francis Kurkdjian house of perfumes?
As always, thanks for reading Beautiful… And see you again soon!
xx, Annie

I’m really into Spring perfumes at the moment. I always tend to go for mild scented perfumes for Spring time that is light and floral. And, this one seems like a great choice. At the moment, I’m loving Marc Jacob’s Daisy which I’m really about.

Also, I love the floral fragrance of Iris flower and the earthy essence of vetiver.

Oooh, I’m going to check this out if possible when we go to LA next week :0) I’m like you and tend to prefer other families of scent, but the occasional beautiful floral is wonderful. For spring I quite like Jardin du Poete by Eau DItalie. It sounds like it would be a floral, but it’s more of a green scent (think crushed foliage and tomatoes). It’s neat! XO, ma belle 😘

hmmm! Jardin du Poete definitely sounds like a perfume I would definitely love to wear! never heard of it before ma belle so thank you for bringing it to my attention!
I will definitely research it! 🙂

This sounds lovely 🙂 I’ll see if I can smell it somewhere in a perfumery near me!
Btw, I have another youtuber for you: her channel name is “AllThatFresh” , she creates lots of different makeup looks 🙂 She’s got dark brown hair, stunning green eyes, and is more on the pale side. I like her tutorials / looks because (most of the time) they are not too heavy, not too dramatic yet still serve as an inspiration!
Let me know what you think of her channel 🙂 I’ll see if I can come up with more.

Yep, me too – I recently tried the Gucci Bamboo, and ohhhh I think I’ve just fallen in love head over heels. Usually I’m a DKNY (original) gal – but my sense of smell seems to be widening these days. Always nice to change it up 😀 XXXX

I love trying new perfumes as well, don’t get me wrong my lovely… but I guess I became more picky and gravitate towards certain scent families… it’s been a while though, since a perfume blew me away! and I kind of need a change as well… I would love to try a scent from Byredo next! love their candles but I haven’t splurged on one of their perfumes yet! 😉

I love the key word here being ‘yet’ hehehe All in the pipeline 😉 Know what you mean about staying in certain families when it comes to perfume, my mum seems to be like that as she’s a Chanel lover through and through. My sis on the other hand seems to hoard Thierry Mugler… whereas I’m a bit of a perfume tart lol If I like it I’m buying it 😀 XXXX

the key word “yet” is already history my lovely! just got me a new perfume from Byredo! I’m a bit nervous as I kind of blindly ordered it online, just reading the description of the notes! fingers crossed I’ll end up loving it! haha! 😀

and I guess it also comes with the age… my Mom is a Chanel girl true and through as well! I, for once, I’m older in certain aspects than the majority of the ladies of my age… and that’s probably because I’m also influenced by my group of friends as well!… I really don’t know if I make any sense, but hopefully you’ll get my point!

and thank you so much lovely, but being Orthodox Christians Easter this year is later than the Roman Catholic’s… we’re celebrating it, on May 1st this year. anyway, one more reason to celebrate right?! haha! have agreat one as well if you do celebrate it now! lots of xx

Ahhh right! That’s actually quite interesting as Orthodox Christianity is something I’m not overly familiar with, must research as I do enjoy learning more about other cultures etc. As I’m sure you can imagine, Ireland is a country based on very Christian morales though I can’t help thinking sometimes significance of many of our church events are overshadowed with consumerism. My Lindt chocolate bunny collection doesn’t help that argument either lol But, like you say another reason to celebrate 🙂 xxxx

in my defense I have to admit that I always have in hand a backup of what I love… be it perfume, be it makeup, be it skincare… not that crazy when it comes to fashion items as I couldn’t afford two Givenchy mini’s for the life of me?!?!?!… LOLOLOL

trust me! once you got your first designer bag, be it a mini or not, you want them all… key is to realise that you can’t keep up with the realeases ( unless you’re Miroslava Duma, Chiara Ferragni or Alexa Chung to get some for free! haha!!! ) I remember there was a time I was making countless whishlists on net-a-porter, harrods and selfridges!…
