I felt inspired to write this post last night while I was reading this one 5 steps to banish blackheads at home written by the Simply Gorgeous Chantel.
This is a DIY I’m using for years now. And it isn’t mine. I’ve found it while I was watching some Michelle Phan videos on Youtube. It doesn’t really matter who came out with it, the thing really works!
By the time I’ve discovered this remedy I was kind of obsessed with hiding pores and banishing blackheads. So I was using pore stripes, of course. Until that one time when removing the stripe, a few layers of skin went away with it. Imagine the panic!?
After that I did a bit of a research, read some reviews, watched some videos and I have discovered that, in time, using pore stripes can be harmful for your skin, causing irritations, enlarged pores, even infections. So I’ve found this video in which Michelle Phan used a DIY recipe to make your own pore stripes at home ( video here ).
You simply need 1 tbs of unflavoured gelatine and 1 tbs of milk, a heating resistant container and a brush. What you should do is mix the milk with the gelatine in the bowl, until it looks like it does in the picture – a bit chunky, gooey and gross, I must say. ( Oh! well… ) Then you pop it in the microwave for 10 seconds. You take it out and wait for it to cool down a little. Then apply it on your interest areas. Wait for 10 minutes for the paste to dry, then you peel it off.
And you are done! Easy and not painful at all!
What do you think? Will you try it? Have you tried it already?
See you soon, beautiful!
