I really think that no matter how many of the By Terry Ombre Blackstar “Color-Fix” Cream Eye Shadow I might have in my collection, I will always consider that they’re not enough!

The By Terry Ombre Blackstar Fard Fondant Regard ( oh, how cute they sound in French!!! ) have really summed up my eyeshadow use for the first half of the past year! But then at the beginning of the summer a new entry stole my entire attention – the Limited Edition Tom Ford Cream and Powder Color 03 Golden Peach, which after all this time I’m still using as an eye makeup base!

annie's beauty... By Terry Ombre Blackstar Blond Opal, Misty Rock, Frozen Quartz, Beyond Gold, Brown Perfection 2

Bach to the stars of this post now!

I have them in:

  • 3 Blond Opal – a beautiful luminous, pure gold, summery shade which makes such an impact on tanned skin! It’s my absolute favourite golden shade to use for the inner corners of my eyes, to bring some brightness and dimension.
  • 5 Misty Rock is probably the most known and talked about from all the OBS! It’s the perfect balance of taupe, purples and metallic… Such an effortless everyday colour! I have a swatch comparison for Misty Rock with some other taupes in my makeup collection here; but as you can easily see if you click the link, it somehow manages to stand out from all of them!
  • 6 Frozen Quartz is the most recent addition to the collection and it’s a beautiful peachy pink, luminous colour that looks so so flattering on all eyes. You’ll see more of it soon!
  • 11 Beyond Gold is a warm, metallic intense, deep gold which compliments a tan to perfection. One swipe of this on the lids a little blending and you’re done for the day!
  • 13 Brown Perfection is the most neutral of all the shades that I own! It’s a deep, true, dark chocolate shade that’s essential in the crease. If the other shades of the OBS I own have a high sheen to them, Brown Perfection is almost matte but with a beautiful luminosity, still…

annie's beauty... By Terry Ombre Blackstar Blond Opal, Misty Rock, Frozen Quartz, Beyond Gold, Brown Perfection 3

Here you have them swatched side by side… From bottom to top: 3 Blond Opal, 11 Beyond Gold, 5 Misty Rock, 6 Frozen Quartz, and 13 Brown Perfection.

Aren’t they beautiful!?

It’s true that these aren’t the only shadow sticks on the market! It’s also true that they aren’t the most unique shades either… But I have to admit that these come in  my absolute favourite formula from all the brands that I have tried!

I absolutely adore using cream eyeshadows when the weather gets hot ( we’re not quite there yet here, in Romania but we’re definitely getting closer, thank goodness! ) and these By Terry shadow sticks are incredibly creamy, pigmented, long lasting, come with the most amazing consistency and in the most beautiful range of colours one can ask for! One more thing! Once applied and set, they won’t be transferring anywhere on your face, no matter how hot and humid the weather is, or how oily your eyelids are! With just one swipe, they will literally glide on the lids, leaving behind the most beautifully pigmented trace of colour, that you can easily bring to the intensity you wish, using your favourite blending brush!

They’re excellent for the “one-product-eye-makeup-look” which all of us prefer, from various reasons! But layered, in one colour for a maximum of intensity or several shades combined, will give you a really chic eye, with a minimum of effort!

So happy to have finally been able to post this complete review on my little collection of By Terry Ombre Blackstar eye crayons! I’ve been using them for such a long time and at a certain point I started thinking that I’m completely selfish and that I’m keeping them only for my personal pleasure!…

But no! Here you have them! And I hope you’ll enjoy reading about my experience with them as well!

As always, thanks for reading, Beautiful! And…

See you soon!

xx, Annie

Yet another fabulous event hosted by my absolute favourite beauty supplier in town, Madison Luxury Perfumery Bucharest. They carry some of my favourite brands makeup, skincare and perfume-wise… Plus, the guys there are the most lovely persons I have ever met in retail this far! Thanks to them the atmosphere is warm and cozy, and it feels like we all know each other since… forever!

I love By Terry as a brand in general! And this event was the very icing on the cake! So I asked the lovely Alexandra if I could be her canvas and her the talented artist… And she was talented indeed! Scroll down to follow the entire makeup process and see the final result!

And feel free to contact her at any time, whenever you have an event and need to look dashing… Or if you’re just in the Dorobanti area and want to spend some quality time!… You’ll thank me later!

[ To book your appointment, you can find Alexandra‘s contacts, as well as her colleagues’ on Madison‘s website! ]

While Alex was busy retouching my friend’s makeup, of course I had to play with all the goodies in front of me! I loved these two Sun Designer Palette – blush/bronzer/highlighting palettes ( which Alex used on me as well! ) which didn’t impressed me much when they first launched… I have to say that they’re infinite more beautiful in real life than on the Internet, and their quality is out of this world gorgeous… Pigmented, finely milled, they blend flawlessly and look amazing on! Definitely recommend them!

I also loved the new two shades of the Ombre Blackstars that came out with their Spring 2016 Collection: Bubble Glow ( which will definitely be a purchase soon! ) and Nude Milky Way!

And now I also want The Colour Design Palette, which is absolutely fabulous for the upcoming seasons due to the beautiful colour selection in it!

Just look how pretty my friend looks here! Isn’t Alex extremely talented?!

Next it was my turn to be spoiled by our “artist” here…

First of all, she prepared my skin taking my own makeup off and applying a very hydrating cream, as my skin is in big need of that with the changing of the seasons and all the allergies…

Glam Weekend with By Terry at Madison Luxury Perfumery Bucharest annie's beauty...6

Then she applied my base ( the coveted Terrybly Densiliss foundation ) with this funny little brush! And good gracious!… It was the most amazing experience ever! The brush is so dense, made with the softest synthetic hairs, that apply your base in a matter of seconds giving you, at the same time, the most relaxing face massage you’ve ever experienced!…

You’ll see me with my eyes closed in most of the pictures, so there! Now you know why! I kind of enjoyed this whole experience a lot, and I’m grateful to Alex for that!

It was my first contact with Jane Iredale products and this powder foundation Alex used to set my makeup and correct any imperfection, is heaven on earth!… Definitely a brand I’ll have my attention on in the future!

Their setting spray was also lovely , as it made my makeup look flawless and kept it intact for hours!

The eye makeup Alex did on me was fabulous! A very soft smokey eye, with soft pinks and browns and a green pop of colour on the waterline and the lower lash line! A lot of blending was involved, a lot of colour applied and re-applied in small doses… Until everything looked effortlessly natural.

Contouring, highlighting and blusher time!… Those two Sun Designer Palettes are on the very top of my wish list now!

The last retouches!…

… And finally the lips! She used this Terrybly Velvet Rouge Lipstick in shade 1 Lady Bare, a beautiful brown nude colour that pulled the entire look together!

And the look was complete!

Now we were able to knock ourselves out and fool around doing some silly selfies… As one does nowadays! We’re cool kids, what do you know! Haha!…

Of course, being the most generous person I know she always is, Alex gave me and my friend a lot of samples to try out… Which I can attest they are amazing! This firming cream from Beauty by Clinica Ivo Pitanguy, a brand totally new to me, exceeded all my expectations! So soft and fast absorbing, nourishes the skin instantly!

Oh! And I also need the Aesop Fabulous Face Oil as it is… well… fabulous indeed!

Glam Weekend with By Terry at Madison Luxury Perfumery Bucharest annie's beauty...22

Another awesome beauty event with Madison Perfumery!… Another day well-spent!… And some new memories were made next to some of the loveliest friends one can ask for!

Thank you guys for being fabulous!

… And thank you so much my Beautiful readers for always being here, so close to me on this beauty journey of mine!

See you soon!

xx, Annie

IMG_2950.

Summer 2015 is gone now so here you have the items that made it memorable!

I want to keep it short and sweet and I will stick to “what” those were and “why” I loved them.

IMG_2951.

Beauty:

  • natural lipsticks with a bit of an oomph: the easiest to wear lip product ever the Tom Ford Seer in Smitten, plus Skinnydip and Rose Soleil from the Tom Ford 2015 Summer Collection, because Tom Ford makeup should be called “art” – period, Charlotte Tilbury Coachella Coral lipstick paired with the most amazing lip liner in Pink Venus or the infamous Pillow Talk for a more neutral look
  • bold lips made possible with a gorgeous NARS Audacious “girl” named Michiyo
  • and the ultimate fiery-red, bold, gloriously sexy and my latest obsession in terms of red lips: the Kendall Jenner X Estée Lauder Pure Colour Envy Matte, in Restless ( yes, that little treasure came in my possession… But more about that story soon, my lovelies! )
  • cream eyeshadows ruled my mornings and again, Tom Ford stole the show with this gorgeous Golden Peach shade, and a glorious come back of my favourite cream eyeshadow sticks – the By Terry Ombre Blackstars in 3 golden-brown variations: Blond Opal, Golden Brown and Brown Perfection ( I need to write a decent review on these as well, don’t you think my lovelies? )

IMG_2953.

  • sticking up to the “cream products” theme, they definitely were the main attraction of this Summer for me. From amazing blushers – like this gorgeous Tom Ford Pink Sand ( a Limited Edition item unfortunately! ), to cream highlighters and easy-to-use contours like the Kevyn Aucoin Creamy Glow Duo, everything worked its magic to achieve my perfect bronzed and glowy / healthy-looking Summer skin.

imageimage

Skincare:

  • the one product that gave me amazing skin unconditionally was the Sunday Riley Luna Sleeping Night Oil… And of course, sunscreen with the highest protection factor. You did wore your sunscreen as well Beautiful, didn’t you!?

image

Perfume this year was the easiest of choices for me

  • if the new Tom Ford Shimmering Body Oil came into my life with its sensual, sexy summer scent I hardly wore my other perfumes
  • but when I did, I revisited two old favourites: my Annick Goutal Eau d’Hadrien – the fragrance that brings me on an imaginary olfactorial trip to the Southern Italy every time I wear it
  • and one of my old time favourites: my Chanel No. 5 Eau Première

IMG_2952.

Tools I couldn’t put down, beside my regular Tom Ford and Hakuhodo army of brushes… the NARS Yachyio Kabuki Brush one item that had waited on the top of my wish list for way too long! Still available on the NARS European website!

Fashion favourites:

  • Musette Nude Laila Flats currently on sale, international shipping available
  • Musette Evergreen Ivoire Purse currently on sale, international shipping available
  • H&M Flowy Midi Skirt you’ll definitely see in a blog post soon.

Here they are, my fantastic collection of Summer 2015 Favourites!

Now please, share yours!

See you soon, Beautiful!

FOTD… Or how I wear my TOM FORD Bare Lip Sheer!…

Hi lovelies!

Since I haven’t posted a lip swatch when I first reviewed my Tom Ford Bare Lip Color Shine and many of you suggested a FOTD post, here you have it! As simple as it is!

image– Tom Ford Bare worn on “bare” lips!

The products you see in the first picture are almost all the products I used to achieve this look… Plus a few daily, trusty ones that I think won’t come as a surprise for those who followed me for a while!…

As a base I’ve tried something new this time! A combination of the already glowing Burberry Fresh Glow BB Cream, shade #01 Fair and the BECCA Cosmetics Shimmering Skin Perfector in Pearl! The final result was a healthy glowing complexion, slightly bronzed and sheer coverage! As natural as it can be, I told you! And I just used a bit of my NARS Creamy Concealer in Light2 Vanilla under the eyes and to cover some spots!

NO POWDER this time because I wanted to keep that beautiful healthy glow! NO HIGHLIGHTER was necessary either!

To maintain the “au naturel” theme I’ve started with, I HAVE NOT used BLUSH either! I just worked with the natural rosiness of my cheeks that peeked through my Burberry BB Cream! Loooved it!

Well, I still used a blush, but only to give a slight contour to my face! And for that I took out my Dolce & Gabbana Nude Blush which did an amazing job, don’t you think?

The eye makeup was also simple, made with only two colours: the By Terry Ombre Blackstars – #13 Brown Perfection smoked all-over the lid and #03 Blond Opal in the inner corners.

The brows were slightly filled in, following their natural shape with my Burberry Effortless Eyebrow Definer, shade #02 Sepia.

And Tom Ford Lip Color Shine, #05 Bare on the lips, applied straightly from the bullet! As I already told you in my actual review, on my pigmented lips Bare shows as a rosy-nude… Effect that  I definitely love! And check out those gorgeous sparkling bits!?!!!?!?!!!

But I also wear it differently…

image – Charlotte Tilbury Pillow Talk, aloneimage – Tom Ford Bare, on top of Charlotte Tilbury Pillow Talk

I slightly contour my lips using the Charlotte Tilbury Pillow Talk, which I blend really well with my fingers, then I apply my Tom Ford Bare on top of it and again, blend everything well! I absolutely love the shade of nude resulted! I think it flatters my complexion a lot!

And this is it!… An effortless, natural, versatile look I wore almost everyday lately!

I hope you enjoyed yet another of my “au naturel” FOTD‘s!

See you soon, beautiful!

xx, Annie

And remember!…

Makeup should never hide the complexion, it should reveal who you are!

This Winter’s Lip Saviours: Omorovicza, By Terry and Dior

By Terry, By Terry Baume de Rose, By Terry Rose Balm Gloss, dior, Dior Lip Glow Colour Reviver Balm, Dior Lip Maximizer, Omorovicza, Omorovicza Perfecting Lip Balm, review

This month was all about some amazing lip products here on annie’s beauty… The Tom Ford Lips&Boys, the Charlotte Tilbury MATTE Revolution Lipsticks, another of my Perfect Nudes discoveries also from Charlotte Tilbury, my favourite lip liners at the moment… And some new ones that are yet to be published, which I’m so excited about!

As you’ll might anticipate, a lot of lip swatches were envolved in the process so my lips kind of had to suffer too! That corroborated with “the Mother of all Colds” => my lips were almost an absolute mess!

What I used to put them back on track were: my holy grail lip treatment By Terry Baume de Rose, in pot form and for when I’m on the go I also used the By Terry Baume de Rose Crystal. When I didn’t used those, I turned to my second best the lip treatment of choice the Omorovicza Perfecting Lip Balm, an amazing product I recently discovered. The last but not the least was my Dior Addict Lip Glow Colour Reviver Balm and the Dior Addict Lip Maximizer Collagen Active, which are permanent “inhabitants” of my bag and I take them with me wherever I go. How many lip products do I currently have in my bag?! You don’t wanna know!

image

The By Terry Baume de Rose is until now the best lip treatment I have ever used. It’s a thick, rose scented lip balm that I use mainly as an overnight treatment!

Of course, like all very hyped products the Baume de Rose has both positive and negative reviews… That it’s too thick ( what would you expect from a lip treatment though!? ), that the rose scent is overpovering… I really love it and I feel that after using it at night, the following day my lips feel amazing! Plus it’s such a versatile product! It can be used on your nails and cuticles, on your elbows or any dry patches! Be careful with how much you sladder on because it’s not the cheapest thing ever! But the 10g little jar lasts me for a good couple of months! I’m On my 3rd one already!

Last year By Terry launched her iconic Baume de Rose in 6 tinted versions ( read more about that here ).

The one in lip gloss form, the By Terry Baume de Rose Crystal comes with me in my bag, everywhere. It’s more of a day-use friendly product, easy to apply when you’re on the go and your lips need a bit of a pick me up!

annie's beauty... OMOROVICZA

The Omorovicza Perfecting Lip Balm is the most recent lip care product I got! I got it with this amazing offer. But don’t worry! Omorovicza periodically comes up with amazing offers and discounts! You only need a subscription to their website to be the first to know… Or, you can keep reading or subscribe to annie’s beauty…! Haha!

This lip treatment is the perfect  product to revive and nourish dry lips. With shea butter, eucalyptus and hyaluronic spheres, the gently tingling balm leaves lips fuller, softer and smoother. It has as main ingredients: hyaluronic filling spheres, omega 6 ceramide, virgin plum oil. It’s minty and delicious, and highly effective! Already a favourite of mine!

image

The Dior Addict Lip Glow Colour Reviver Balm is another long time love of mine, but I’m sure everybody knows and loves it as well! This is a  sensationally sheer lip balm that responds to the color chemistry of your own lips to create a shade uniquely yours by enhancing your own natural lip color. It also makes your lips look more plumped, moisturized, and most important because I mainly use it during the day due to the easy application, adds in a bit of a sun protection factor!

Dior Addict Lip Maximizer Collagen Active is a revolutionary lip treatment that stimulates collagen synthesis and restructures lips within 15 days. The incredible volume effect due to the key ingredient in its formula – the collagen, can be easily seen from the first application though, and gives a long-term freshness to the lips.

That’s why the Dior Addict Lip Glow Colour Reviver Balm and the Dior Addict Lip Maximizer Collagen Active are the backstage essential beauty secret for the sensual lips, the Dior models rocked in the presentations where Peter Philips– the creative and image director of Christian Dior Makeup worked his magic ( see here, here ).

Recently Charlotte Tilbury launched two lip care products too, a lip scrub ( the Lip Love Lip Renewing Honeybee Scrub ) and a lip treatment ( the Lip Magic Rejuvenating, Smoothing Propolis Balm ) which I’m dying to try! Definitely will be on my order summary of my next purchase!

What are your lip saviours for the colder months, or in general?

Lots of xx,

Annie

My 2014 Favourite… Brands

30 Tuesday Dec 2014

2014 favourites, Burberry, By Terry, Charlotte Tilbury, dior, Hourglass, Maison Francis Kurkdjian, makeup, skincare, Tom Ford

To realise that I’m writing the last post I will publish on 2014 is literally overwhelming and equally exciting! My initial plan was to write the usual round up of my Annual Favourite Products post but since I wasn’t able to decide on a decent amount ( hence the flow of pictures in this post! ), it was somehow mandatory to go for a 2014 Favourite Brands instead!

As many of you might know, if you followed me for a while, I am the ultimate makeup snob with obvious tendencies of hoarding, and the brands I’m the most attracted to are mostly high end and luxury, for the most frivolous of reasons… Lovely packaging, limited edition items, scent and lastly the quality of such products which rarely fails me!

FullSizeRender1

So, I also guess it won’t come as a surprise the fact that I will open my post talking about Dior.

Dior has been THE brand of the year for me! If not for other reasons, only for the fact that I repeatedly splurged on some products which instantly became favourites! I love theirnewly reformulated nail polishes, their Christmas limited edition items are like a fairy tale… not to mention the new makeup bits they released this year – the “infamous” Star foundation, the Dior Addict Fluid Sticks, the new reforulated eye shadows…

image

Those were the reasons I decided to share my Dior favourites with you in this Dior Christmas Giveaway! Have you entered yet?

DIOR CHRISTMAS GIVEAWAY

Fotor01013125556 copy

Oh! And one of the main reasons I love Dior this much it’s also a person, Peter Philips – the Creative and Image Director of Dior Makeup! The man is a makeup genius, his ideas are so innovative and compliment so well, Raf Simons’ creations! I have a few posts about his amazing work here, here and here if you’re interested in the work of this invincible duo!

IMG_1088 copy

My next favourite brand had to be, of course, Tom Ford. I love their crazy expensive makeup brushes ( review here and here ) and I use them every single day; almost religiously! I also love the quality of their makeup and their entire perfume range! So to make me choose, would be definitely the hardest thing ever! Here you have some of my favourite Tom Ford lipsticks, I already wrote some reviews on ( links here, here and here ).

And thanks to my lovely friend and blogger Serene, who kindly let me know that Selfridges has a huuuuge Sale going on I finished my year in glory, obviously with another Tom Ford splurge! HAD to!

photo 5 copy

Now let’s have a little talk about Burberry, shall we?! I love this brand; from the makeup bits, the gorgeous iconic trenches ( Santa was beyond generous this Christmas, if you know what I’m saying!? ), and the softest cashmere scarves everything about this brand screams luxury!

photo 4 copy

Here you have a few of my beauty favourites: a stack of eyeshadows ( which doubled its amount from the time I took this picture! Uuuupps! ) and two my most used blushes this year: Tangerine and Cameo. I also love their lipsticks formula ( check some reviews here and here )… In fact, as a sneaky preview, I’m going to tell you that I will open my next blogging year precisely with a review on a gorgeous gorgeous lipstick from Burberry, which has become an obsession in a matter of minutes… So make sure you check that out!

photo 5 copy

My best 2014 makeup discovery was without a doubt Charlotte Tilbury! I got my first product at the beginning of this year and I was hooked ever since! Her eye makeup palettes are easily comparable with my favourite Tom Ford eyeshadows, her blushes give your cheeks the most beautiful flush of colour and a subtle healthy glow, and the formula of her lipsticks, especially the matte ones, is like nothing I have tried before…

image

You will definitely see more Charlotte Tilbury product reviews in the upcoming months!

photo 1

Another favourite brand this year was By Terry. I’m loving her makeup makeup products, and our “love story” went on for years now!

photo_1

But what I love the most this year were the Ombré Blackstars and the Tea to Tan, an innovative bronzer so easy to work with. It kind of made me forget about my favourite Guerlain Terracotta bronzers for a while!

image

Hourglass oh, Hourglass! I’ve been wanting to try their products for such a long time but it was impossible fro me to reach them because of their shipping policy! Then I discovered the SpaceNK website, and the doors to Heaven opened for me! Here you have probably my most handsome makeup items in my entire collection and that Mood Exposure in the Ambient Lighting Blush Palette is my most used blush in the past months… Also the highlighting shade in the Ambient Lighting Powder Palette, Incandescent Light is my most used highlighter ever!

photo_1

Maison Francis Kurkdjian was my favourite House of Perfume this year. I loved everything from them from home scents like their scented candles and incense paper to Amyris, my favourite perfume of the year! It’s the most luxurious treat you can offer yourself and to your loved ones! Besides that, my search for a perfume to represent me and my personality ended once I put on Maison Francis Kurkdjian’s Oud! I am happy to admit that I now have a signature scent which is so intimate, particular and different from everything around me!

image

As for my favourite skincare brand the one I enjoyed the most was Omorovicza, an amazing Hungarian brand with solutions for every skin issues!

image

Here is the most amazing lip balm I have tried lately!

I hope you enjoyed reading about my favourites and I would love to read about yours!

Since this is my last post on 2014, and the beginning of 2015 is a only couple of hours far, I would love to thank you once more for your constant support throughout my first blogging months, for your beautiful friendship, for the lovely conversations and the inspiration I get from you everyday!

Cheers to a new amazing year together, Beautiful!

Lots of xx,

Annie

Chanel Illusion d’Ombre #95 Mirage – review, swatches, comparisons

08 Saturday Nov 2014

By Terry, chanel, Chanel Illusion d'Ombre #95 Mirage, dior

Believe it or not, the only Chanel makeup products I kept myself away from for the longest time, were Les Illusion d’Ombre Long-Wear Luminous Eye Shadows.

photo

I clearly remember there was a time when I was literally mesmerized by #82 Émerveillé, but when I found myself swatching it at a Chanel counter, all that in-your-face-glitter-shimmer-fiesta wasn’t an option for me. Then Ébloui came along, a gorgeous burnished, brick-red eye shadow that made me finally surrender to the amazingness of these products. Yup, my faith was sealed!

When #95 Mirage was launched with the Summer 2014 Collection, I tried my best to resist it! But because it’s one of the eye shadow colours I gravitate towards, as you will see next from the swatches, and it has that amazingly soft formulation, which blends like a dream, I simply couldn’t leave that Chanel counter without it! I wasn’t impressed this time by the other two shades that came in the same Collection: #96 Utopia and 97 New Moon, even though they were listed as Limited Edition.

image

Mirage, as all Illusion d’Ombres, is a semi-sheer but really buildable eye shadow with fine but intense shimmers. A golden, almost taupey, medium-to-dark, luminous bronze colour with beautiful warm undertones. The interesting gel texture that is both soft and cushiony, allows it to be worn as an eyeshadow or eyeliner. I have never worn it as an eyeliner, since I’m always using it to create a really warm, brown smokey eye look, nothing too dramatic or fancy though.

It is quite similar with other eye shadows in my collection but somehow manages to keep its particularity. Here you have it swatched next to Burberry‘s Pale Barley, By Terry Bronze Moon and Dior Météore.

Pale Barley is the closest one in colour and finish, even tough it is a sheer powder eye shadow, when Mirage is a cream formula. The other two are cream formulas; Bronze Moon has more golden undertones and it is the most shimmery one, and Météore leans more warm and coppery than Mirage.

I love this formula of these eye shadows because they make a really great base for your eye makeup, Mirage being an extremely versatile colour and easy to wear in any occasion – day or night. Its texture felt particularly soft compared to the other Illusion d’Ombre eye shadows I own which made the product literally glide on the lids, therefore the easiest, effortless of applications. It also wears really well ( hence the name “long-lasting” ), even on oily lids without a primer. I use it all-over the lid, by itself or as a base, applied with my Hakuhodo J142 Eye Blending Brush or directly with my fingertips.

I can admit now that I am a Chanel Illusion d’Ombre converted!

I would love to see in the comments below what are your favourite cream eye shadows, so please share!

See you soon, beautiful!

xx, Annie

Summer of 2014 Bronzed, glowing, healthy summer Tip #9: Eye look By Terry Ombre Blackstar and Dior Diorshow Fusion Mono

To go along with the bronzed, glowing, healthy look this summer I took out from my makeup drawers the bronzy, shimmery eye products.

My favourites so far have been the By Terry Ombre Blackstar Colour-Fix Eye Shadows. In the picture below you can see my most used 3 shades : the lightest is #3 Blond Opal, the more golden one is #11 Beyond Gold and the darkest one, my all-time favourite, is #5 Misty Rock.

photo 2

I simply adore this practical pen format because it is so easy to use. A swipe or two of one of these melting eye shadows and their “tattoo-hold” stretch texture will blend evenly onto your eyelids, creating the most amazing radiance-lift reshaping film.

To blend the colour you have to work fast with your blending brush, because once it sets it will not budge the whole day. They are the most waterproof eye shadows in my entire makeup collection!

photo 3

The other eye shadows I love to use during the summer days are the Dior Diorshow Fusion Mono Long-Wear Eye Shadow. In the picture you can see two amazing shades: #001 Lune – a white-ish colour with a hint of gold and #661 Météore – a beautiful warm, bronzy colour.

There is a particular look I like to create using these two. I take some #661 Météore either on my finger or on the little sponge applicator they come with and then apply it all-over my mobile lid, then blend it with my Hakuhodo J142 blending brush. With my Tom Ford #14 Smokey Eye Brush I take a bit of that same eye shadow on the lower lash line, to open up the eye. Then I place some #001 Lune on my tear duct and on my brow bone too. A bit of black kohl for fuller lashes and lots of mascara, and that is it! Nothing fancy! But the final result is so effortlessly chic and summery, the definition of the “Goddess” look.

These Dior eye shadows are very similar to my Chanel Illusion d’Ombres, but I find them to be more long-lasting on my eyelids even without a primer. That is maybe because they are less creamier than the Chanel ones. But they blend equally well and they are not as glittery, which I personally like more.

Here you have some swatches of these beautiful eye shadows:

What are your favourite eye shadows this summer?

See you soon, beautiful!

Summer of 2014 – Bronzed, glowing, healthy summer Tip #3 Other bronzing products: By Terry Tea to Tan and Clarins Radiance-Plus Golden Glow Booster

#01 Bronze Bay, By Terry, clarins, Radiance-Plus Golden Glow Booster, review, summer 2014, Tea to Tan

photo_1

I really could not continue the Summer 2014 Series without talking about other products I love to use to achieve the healthy glowing tan I very much like.

I have been dying to write a proper review about the “infamous” By Terry Tea To Tan Water Colour Bronzer Instant Double Glow. I already talked about it a bit when I blogged its launch, in April ( see post here ).

photo 5

It is an aqua based product formulated with Native Active Water from tea which goes on transparent on the skin. It contains Red Teas and Black Teas and Native Water of Organic Cherry with anti-oxidants, detoxifying and revitalizing properties and Correcting micro-prisms, and coloured powders which will totally be guilty of your bronzed, glowing look.

It comes in one shade #01 Bronze Bay. What an inspired name! Because by using this product your complexion will be imprinted with a veil of nude sun kissed colour.

Its texture is also revolutionary: “100% water with a bi-phased formula”. To customize the application you need to shake the bottle before use, to evenly mix the fine pearlescent particles with the tea water base.

It comes in an elegant glass bottle provided with a glass dropper I have never seen on another product. To open the it  you have to twist off the cap until the dispenser pops up, then a few more twists and you can use the product.

photo 3

One more thing I have noticed is that it never turns dead orange on me, no matter how much I apply. And it lasts all day long! Hopefully you can notice the shimmering particles glistening in the sun. Don’t be afraid it won’t translate like that onto the skin, but in the form of a pigmented, diaphane veil.

It also dries down matte, so no need to worry about it fading or transfer on your clothes!

I find the best way to apply it is by tapping it with my fingertips over foundation in areas where I want the bronzed look, then blend it really well with my Tom Ford foundation brush.

It will work on any skin colour/undertone, the key being to apply in thin layers and to blend very well.

Good for face and body!

photo 4

The second bronzing product is the new Clarins Radiance-Plus Golden Glow Made-to-Measure Self Tan. With this innovative, product you only need to add 3 drops to your day and/or night moisturizer, wait for it to work its magic and it will warm up your complexion with a sun-kissed glow.

It comes out transparent and it must be used combined with a moisturizer, and never alone. By reapplying it for several days it allows you to develop the tan to the intensity you want it.

It does not transfer onto your clothes or bed sheets! One thing you have to make sure you always do: wash your hands thoroughly immediately after every application if you don’t want them to look awkwardly tanned!

Also good to use for face and body!

Well? What do you think about this two alternatives to classic bronzers? Don’t they look scary? Haha!

See you soon, beautiful!

xx, Annie
