I have discovered Cup&Candle randomly while I was browsing through my Facebook feed. Just one click and I was irremediably in love!

So delicate and feminine the Cup&Candle concept is as simple as it gets: lightly scented candles in vintage porcelain teacups. But the amount of emotions and the positive energy they give you is far more complex and it comes from the woman behind this whole project. Her name is Oana Botezatu and you can recognize her from the pages of Marie Claire Romania, where she works as a coordinating editor. But the young journalist is using her creativity not only to find interesting subjects for her articles but also at home, where she creates these amazing pieces. And here is the proof!
As Oana said in an interview, she was inspired to develop this concept by Martha Stewart. Months of research about soy wax, natural perfumes and suppliers have followed… Not too long after that the first Cup&Candle item was created. She made it from a small teacup she kept on a shelf in her living room. She bought the little porcelain set in an antiques shop several years ago.
Each candle is handmade. Every cup is either unique, either limited edition because Oana buys her wonderful teacups from vintage markets wherever she travels or directly from antiquarians. My teacup candle for instance, is made of a off-white, fine, Polish porcelain with delicate golden details on the cup and also on the plate it comes with. It is unique, elegant and the subtle lilac scent is amazing!

Another important thing is that Oana uses for her creations exclusively natural soy wax which compared to the paraffin we all know is less toxic. And the candle burns twice slower! Also, the fine perfumes added to the initial soy wax are only natural, pure essences. The teacups are recycled and recyclable so that when the candle is gone you are left with a beautiful porcelain piece. And who says that you can not feel the atmosphere of a Parisian coffee shop every morning on your own terrace?!
But the most important thing is that the Cup&Candle pieces are made with passion, an opened soul and with a smile on the face. Those were the feelings I got the first time I saw them in the pictures.
You can find Oana and the Cup&Candle on their blog, on Oana’s Facebook page and in Cărturești Verona libraries and Bernschutz & Co tea houses.

And because Easter is just around the corner, Oana has a small surprise for you! What can be more appropriate than a sale on candles to burn on Easter holiday?!
Yes, Cup&Candle ships internationally!
See you soon, beautiful!
xx, Annie
