Another basic during the summer is tinted moisturizer. If you are pale like me and rather turn red than tanned, the Caudalie Divine Legs Tinted Body Lotion is just the right product for you. And if you like the “Goddess” look all year round, feel free to use it anytime you want!

Next I want to go with you through the steps which will allow us to achieve the golden, glowy, healthy summer look we all love. Since the tanning product is a tinted moisturizer the following steps are not mandatory, but they will give you a SPA-like experience which is always welcomed.

Step 1: Exfoliate

By using a scrub you will clean your skin of any impurities and it will help you get rid of any dead skin. If you skip this step is more likely to get some “wonderful”( not! ) patches because the self tanning lotion will not be able to spread and absorb evenly.

My option is the Caudalie Divine Scrub, formulated with Brown Sugar crystals and 4 vegetal oils: Argan, Hibiscus, Sesame and Grape oils from the vineyards of Bordeaux, Champagne and Burgundy. The Caudalie Divine Scrub is composed 97% natural ingredients. Scented with gentle floral notes, this lightweight formula will leave your skin soft and with a healthy glow – the perfect prep for a beach holiday.

To use on wet skin, twice a week.

 Step 2: Moisturize

It is important to keep your skin hydrated and nourished at any time, but especially before you want to apply a self tanner. Make sure you insist with your body lotion, cream or oil on the areas where your skin is drier: elbows, knees etc. … The Caudalie Divine Legs is a moisturizer itself but I still prefer using another one before that.

During the summer months, to keep my skin healthy looking, I find myself reaching the most for dry oils. They are easy to apply, they absorb faster and they do an amazing job at moisurizing your skin.

I went for the Caudalie Divine Oil, from the same product line as the Divine Scrub. The Caudalie Divine Oil is a multipurpose dry oil which has a lot of hype around. And for good reason! It is an amazing antioxidant, moisturizing body oil that provides silky skin and lasting comfort. Concentrated with moisturizing active ingredients plus antioxidant grape polyphenols and draining ginkgo biloba, this lotion leaves the skin soft, firm, and radiant. It has the same pleasant floral scent of all the products from the Caudalie Divine skin care range.

You can use it on your body, as a face oil or as a hair treatment to repair split ends, and to add some shine to your hair!

Step 3: Apply Tinted Moisturizer

And the star of this post is: the Caudalie Divine Legs. It is a lightweight tinted body lotion, great to give your legs a touch of sun without the use of a self-tanner. It also gives an instant sun-kissed glow and adds radiance to already tanned legs.

It is suitable for all skin tones as it blends like a dream into the skin and dries in an instant, creating a beautiful, bronzed finish.

In the picture below you can see it swatched next to another amazing bronzing product the By Terry Tea to Tan in #01 Bronze Bay, reviewed previously here.

The only downside of this product, since it is a tinted lotion, is that it has not much staying power and it transfers a bit on your clothes. I also would not advise you to wear it during those unexpected summer showers!…

What tanning products do you use? Any suggestions?

See you soon, beautiful!

xx, Annie

After the recent launch of their new patented Polyphenol C15 skincare line, Caudalie – the French brand that gave us the Beauty Elixir and some other emblematic products like the Vinosource SOS Thirst-Quenching Serum, which we all know, literally took over the beauty community, came out on the market with a long-awaited surprise.

Now, we all loved and shared our love for the Caudalie Divine skincare range in more than one occasion, ever since its release a few years ago. We all used at least once in our shower the Caudalie Divine Scrub and many of us have a little bottle of the Caudalie Divine Oil at home.

The scent of this range is so amazing that everyone repeatedly requested for a perfume. And Mathilde Tomas the woman behind the brand ( I have an entire post on Caudalie and their producs here ) decided to please her clients and recently released a perfume, which trapped in a bottle the essence of the Divine Oil scent. It is Mathilde’s first perfume created with the Master Perfumer Jacques Cavallier. The brand already produces an Eau Fraîche collection, including the newest, Figue de Vigne.

The notes of this perfume are delicate as a cloud and contain a sensual blend of Bulgarian Rose Absolute, Moroccan Rose essence, Virginia cedar, vanilla and spicy pink pepper.

And if you weren’t sold yet by the description above, the perfume comes in a sleek 50 ml bottle with a “divine” gradient metallic look. For £39/45€, it will make your vanity look special.

INTERESTING FACT:

With the launch of her first perfume Mathilde Thomas made sure that each Parfum Divin de Caudalie contains a code that may win you an exquisite 18-carat gold pendant by chic New York based jewellery brand GINETTE NY (worth £100!). To enter click on www.parfumdivindecaudalie.com.

Beside that, check out this offer too! banner_pc15_uk

See you soon, beautiful!

Caudalie – Focus on brand & A few empties

What a better way to advertise a product than flashing it under your eyes when it is empty?! The Caudalie products that I have to show you will be featured in this post just because I loved them and it is been such a pleasure to use them. And by the way, Caudalie does not sponsor me. Maybe you should, Caudalie! Hehehe!…

photo

But first let me share with you some information meant to justify my love for this brand.

def.: Caudalie n. <kodali> (oenological term): Unit measuring the duration of the wine’s flavor on the palate. For each second the flavor remains, this is a caudalie. The finer a wine is, the more caudalies it has.

The brand has been created in 1992 by Mathilde and Bernard Thomas. It all begun when they first have registered a patent for extracting and establishing grape seed Polyphenols – the most powerful antioxidants in the plant world.

As for the ingredients, the vine and the grape used to create their products come from the vineyards in Bordeaux, Champagne and Burgundie. To create the wonderful products organic grape water, grape-seed oils and Vinoleuvre® as well as plant oils which come from fair trade as well as the shea butter, argan oil, borage, evening primerose, hibiscus, sesame sage, camomile, flax seed, avocado, and apricot butters, ginseng, ginger and echinaceea, orange and lemon plant waters, and natural extracts of Indian Hyssop, juniper, broom, geranium, rosemary and fresh peppermint… To all that they add moisturizing active ingredients ( Cassa Augustifolia and Pea ) and natural emulsifiers.

Caudalie has said a big NO to: parabens, plunoxyethanol, mineral oils, genetically modified organisms, paraffin, synthetic artificial colouring, phatalates, animal-derived materials.

And also NO to animal testing.

They use recycled and recyclable papers and plastics; less Co2 emissions, less wastes and reuses wastewater.

The Caudalie Hand and Nail Cream. This is the best hand cream I have ever used. It also comes in the biggest tube ever. The smell is mild and takes you to a walk to the vineyards in bloom every time you use it. Its biggest plus is that it does not leave that greasy feeling on your hands, no matter how much you use.

photo 1

The Caudalie Grape Water is an 100 % grape infused water toner enriched with moisturizing polysaccharides and mineral salts. It is a lighter, healthier, less drying version of the Caudalie Beauty Elixir, which I hate. I hate the smell of it and it dries my skin because of the alcohol in it. And yeah! It will smudge your makeup if it is not waterproof. The Grape water is unscented and the mist that comes out is fine and even.

photo 4

The Caudalie Divine Oil is a cult product on the Internet. I really do not think that there is a single person with interests in beauty, skincare that has not heard about it. It is a lightweight oil, good for you hair, face and body. The smell is amazing and the biggest plus is that it comes with a spray-pump-thing which diffuses the finest, rich mist.

photo 5

The Caudalie Contouring Concentrate is an anticellulite product which used regularly and combined with the Caudalie Tea ( … and sports, and diet, and discipline, and moral support, and… you name it! ) it really works. It has the consistency of an oil but when massaged in it leaves no greasy residue. And it smells like ginger.

photo 3

And the last product featured in this post as an empty is the Caudalie Gentle Conditioning Shampoo. One of the best shampoos I have ever used. There was a good period of time when my hair went so crazy I had no ides what to do to it. Well, this shampoo because it is so conditioning started to make my hair look as healthy, soft and shiny as I knew it. No more tangles and the smell – remember that walk? Yeah!…

So these are the my Caudalie empties for now! Some of them are already repurchased some I will repurchase soon!

See you soon, beautiful!
