Guerlain know how to make luxurious products. That’s no secret to anyone! And with the Guerlain Les Tendres Collection for Spring 2015 they did not disappoint once more.

If you don’t know already, let me tell you what the collection is made of:

– the Météorites Compact Light-Revealing Powder – a new and Permanent ( thank goodness! ) product, which comes in three shades #2 Clair, #3 Medium and #4 Doré

– Permanent are also the Météorites Baby Glow Light-Revealing Sheer Makeup, a light-revealing base infused with the magic dust of the Météorites powder; available in three shades as well, #2 Clair, #3 Medium and #4 Doré

– the Météorites Perles de Blush Angelic Radiance, the first ever luxury blush in pearl form that I have ever seen, a gorgeous-looking product to have in your makeup collection. Hurry up though and grab yours since this one is a Limited Edition

– also LE are the two Écrin 4 Couleurs Eyeshadow Palettes, in #18 Les Nuées and #504 Les Précieux

– the KissKIss Shaping Cream Lip Colour in #540 Peach Satin and #560 Rosy Silk ( LE )

– the Guerlain Nail Lacquer Long-Lasting Colour & Shine in #368 Baby Rose ( LE )

Here you have one of the advertisements for the Guerlain Les Tendres Collection for Spring 2015 collection.

I was attracted only by the Météorites Compact Light-Revealing Powder in the shade #4 Doré which I intend to use as a blusher/highlighter.

The classic, cult Météorites Pearls are finely pressed to form a beautiful mosaic of light-enhancing slightly shimmery gold pieces and corrective shades of refreshing pink and light-catching mauve, plus a few chocolate hued ones to warm up the skin. The result is a skin that looks soft, smooth, delicate and beautifully natural.

Maybe I should’ve started with saying that this is the most pigmented of the three shades and that is the only one really noticeable on the skin. Even if there are only three pieces of pink coloured sections in this combination, I was so surprised to see how pink his powder shows on the skin! I was used to the translucent, more natural finish of the other two shades. I wouldn’t use it as an all-over powder though, mainly for that reason.

I also red while I was doing my researches, that #4 Doré was actually made for to serve that precise purpose: to give colour as a blush and luminosity as a highlighter.

image

But if you like that effect and you still want to use it all-over your face stay assured that it will still blur imperfections and it will subtly brighten your complexion without adding a lot of sheen.

The powder is soft and finely mild, but compared to the other two I found it a bit more drier and causing a lot more fall out, which for some might mean wasting a lot of product. I personally don’t mind it since it comes with a good 10g which I’m sure will last me quite a while. I only make sure to tap the whatever excess might be on the brush before the application.

I also like to apply it with fluffy, dense brush like my Tom Ford #06 Cheek Brush which I find perfect for the effect I want to get or the Hakuhodo J210 Blush Brush Round, but this one has shorter bristles which makes blending a bit more difficult. Using the Tom Ford brush, I’m sure that the application will be from the top of the bristles to build up the intensity of the colour and the blending will be done by the multiple bristles.

Here you have some hand swatches.

image

The scent is the usual delicate floral and feminine violet fragrance, inimitable and  addictive for some, but I recognize that for some sensitive noses this might give a bit of a headache.

Overall impressions:

As with the Météorites Pearls, the Guerlain Météorites Compact Light-Revealing Powder is not an absolute must-have. The product is nice bit I very much prefer the Hourglass Ambient Lighting Powders ( see reviews here and here ) for the ultimate glowing, healthy skin.

It is definitely less spectacular to keep on your vanity than the Pearls as the packaging is… well, compact. But it is amazing for traveling because it takes less space and it’s easier to use – which is always a plus!

I’m not bothered by the, consistency, pigmentation, fall-out or by the scent!

Will I get another one? I don’t know!… I initial choice was the shade #2 Clair and of course, I still have my mind on it!

So what should I do, my lovelies? Should I get it as well? HELP!

What have else have you tried and think I should get as well?

I hope you’re having a great week! See you soon, beautiful!

xx, Annie

Balance Me Eye Cream, Burberry Sheer Eyeshadow #22 Pale Barley, By Terry Baume de Rose, Charlotte Tilbury Filmstar Bronze & Glow Face Sculpt & Highlight, Dior Addict Lip Glow Colour Reviver Balm, DIOR DIORSKIN AIR NUDE HEALTHY GLOW ULTRA-FLUID Foundation, Elemis Gentle Rose Exfoliator, Elemis Pro-Collagen Cleansing Balm Anti-Ageing, Elemis Pro-Radiance Illuminating Flash Balm Anti-Ageing, First Aid Beauty Ultra Repair Cream, Guerlain Météorites Compact Light-Revealing Powder #4 Doré, Hourglass Ambient Lighting Powder Palette, Kiehl's Midnight Recovery Concentrate, NARS Eyeshadow Duo Alhambra, Omorovicza Complexion Corrector SPF20, Omorovicza Queen of Hungary Mist, Tom Ford Lip Colour Shine #05 Bare

I’ve been meaning to write this post for a good while now because this is the time of the year when I feel my skin is suffering the most from dryness, dullness and irritations due to all those “goodies” I’ve treated myself to during the holidays but also the crisp and often windy transitional weather…

So, if  for whatever reason you suffer from lack-lustre skin as well, stay with me until the end of this post for some suggestions to repair that.

You might know by now that I’m all about that natural, glowing, healthy looking skin and the key to achieve that “canvas” is a good skincare routine. A good cleanser to get rid of all the impurities with an amazing toner over that, and THE moisturiser! You can never have enough of that during this time of the year!…

image

My favourites at the moment:

– Elemis Pro-Collagen Cleansing Balm Anti-Ageing doubled by a gentle exfoliator like this one also from Elemis Gentle Rose Exfoliator ( both recently reviewed here )

– Omorovicza Queen of Hungary Face Mist

– Kiehl’s Midnight Recovery Concentrate ( already reviewed here )

– Balance Me Eye Cream

– First Aid Beauty Ultra Repair Cream

Skincare done, the most obvious for a healthy, glowing-looking skin is a simple yet effective makeup…

image

I love:

– to apply the Elemis Pro-Radiance Illuminating Flash Balm Anti-Ageing which has the correcting properties of a makeup product and doubles as a moisturizer as well ( what did I told you? Moisturiser is never enough this time of the year!!! ). I already spoke about this one in this post here. Before falling in love with this, I used almost every day even on my days when I didn’t put actual makeup on, my Omorovicza Complexion Corrector SPF20, previously reviewed here

– then to use a lightweight foundation, like the new release from Dior, the Diorskin Nude Air Serum Foundation; full review here

– then I go nuts with the Hourglass Ambient Lighting Powder Palette ( review here ) and, because that’s not enough glow for my liking I add a bit more with this amazing Charlotte Tilbury Filmstar Bronze and Glow Palette ( review on that here )

– I might as well skip blush, but ever since I got this amazing Guerlain Météorites Pressed Powder in #4 Doré, there’s nothing else on mt cheeks but this one. I know what you’re going to say… “Hey Annie, that’s a highlighting powder as well! And it’s not the right shade for you!” Really?! Who said that you’re only meant to use a product only for what it says on the pan?! I especially bought it in the darkest colour to use it as a blusher/light bronzer and I’m so happy with my choice! I have a review on this coming soon. here.

– to keep my eyes simple with simple eyeshadow like the Burberry Sheer Eyeshadow in #22 Pale Barley, I have this one in the old formula and it’s still a favourite or the NARS Eyeshadow Duo in Alhambra ( review here )

– the lips sheer as well with an easy going shade like one of my sheer shades – my Tom Ford Lip Colour Shine in #05 Bare or simply a lip balm like the Dior Addict Lip Glow Colour Reviver Balm or my beloved By Terry Baume de Rose ( both previously reviewed here ).

image

The result is a fresh, healthy look easy to achieve and to be transformed from a day to night simply by adding a black eyeliner or by smoking the eye a bit and changing the lip colour with a more daring one like some of my favourite reds ( here and here… and here… and here… ) or a good nude ( review here ) or even a bold dark lip ( here ) if you feel like.

What do you do to refresh your makeup? How do you get ready for the warmer months?

See you soon, Beautiful!

xx, Annie

Recent launches I absolutely couldn’t resist!… feat. Chanel, Dior, Guerlain, Burberry and NARS

Burberry, Burberry Eye Colour Silk Wet & Dry Eyeshadows, Burberry Eye Colour Silk Wet & Dry Eyeshadows #200 Tea Rose and #201 Rose Pink, chanel, Chanel Rouge Coco #440 Arthur, dior, Dior Diorskin Nude Air Nude Healthy Glow Ultra-Fluid Serum Foundation SPF 25 - PA++ #010 Ivory, Dior Vernis #244 Majesty, guerlain, Guerlain Météorites Compact Light-Revealing Powder #4 Doré, NARS, NARS All Day Luminous Weightless Foundation, NARS All Day Luminous Weightless Foundation Light 3 Gobi

They keep throwing new products on the beauty market casually, as if for them it’s just another day at the office!

Well, it definitely is… But for my poor-frail-beauty addict self resisting such amazing beauty goodies gets harder and harder every season, with every collection, with every smallest release!…

Here you have the makeup products that caught my eye and I had to have, that were released these past two months since the beginning of 2015…

image

1. Chanel Rouge Coco #440 Arthur

My first high end lipstick was a Chanel one.

There was a time when the Chanel lipsticks were the only ones I used for my lips. I loved the Coco Shines and the Rouge Allures, but I was never drawn to their Rouge Coco’s.

When I’ve heard about the new, reformulated ones I immediately went on the selfridges.com website and got myself a gentlemen: #440 Arthur. He kept me company while in Milan, and we had such great time together.

“Monsieur Arthur” will have his own complete review soon! I’m sure you can’t wait to meet him as well…

2. Dior Diorskin Nude Air Nude Healthy Glow Ultra-Fluid Serum Foundation SPF 25 – PA++ #010 Ivory

I’ve been waiting for this one to be released for what it seems like forever. Actually when I first heard of it was when I actually blogged about its launching soon…

I love lightweight foundations and Dior did an amazing job with their foundations lately, so I couldn’t wait to be able to give this one a go too! Do I love it?! I guess you will find out in a post coming up soon!

3. Dior Vernis #244 Majesty

From the Dior Spring 2015 Kingdom of Colours nothing caught my eye, so I decided to go for Majesty. I adore the formula of their nail polishes as you might have seen from my previous posts ( here , here, here aaaand here ), and where there are no new launches in a collection that I’m particularly interested in, the nail polishes are my safe choice.

From this collection I wanted the Dior Diorblush #536 Peach Splendor ever since I blogged about it being used by Peter Philips in the Ready-to-Wear S/S 2015 Colection makeup looks, but that one was nowhere to be found.

I might also go back and get the nail polish in Glory and the Dior Rouge Dior Baume Belle de Printemps ( see post here ).

3. Guerlain Météorites Compact Light-Revealing Powder #4 Doré

I’m very much aware of the hype around the Guerlain Météorites Perles. They look so pretty, they smell amazing but for practical reasons, I just couldn’t justify buying them.

But when I saw these new colours, in compact form from the Spring 2015 Les Teindres Collection, I was instantly sold! I love my Guerlain mainly for their bronzers, which I kind of have a few… and love them all ( read about my Guerlain  mini-collection of bronzers here, here and here ). So it shouldn’t be a surprise that I went for the darkest shade with the powders too, #4 Doré, which I intend to use as a flush of colour on my cheeks or as a light bronzer.

I’m highly tempted by #2 Fair, but I’m still debating on getting that one.

And weird enough I’m not attracted by their new Guerlain Météorites Perles de Blush Angelic Radiance…

4. Burberry Eye Colour Silk Wet & Dry Eyeshadows #200 Tea Rose and #201 Rose Pink

Burberry does the most amazing eyeshadows! They are so pigmented, they are buttery-soft but they apply and blend in with minimal-to-no fall out, and the colour selection is gorgeous! I have a few and I adore them!

The new Eye Colour Silk Wet & Dry Eyeshadows are no exception… But I already raved about them in this post here.

 image

5. NARS All Day Luminous Weightless Foundation shade Light 3 Gobi

is another lightweight foundation which caught me completely off-guard! I didn’t expected it to match my complexion so well, to be so high-coverage and to really live up to what it claims to do… To resist on the face basically the entire day! Definitely recommend this one too! A full review with application details and swatches will be up soon!

What are your picks until now lovelies?

Wishing you an amazing Spring!
