I was attracted only by the Météorites Compact Light-Revealing Powder in the shade #4 Doré which I intend to use as a blusher/highlighter.
The classic, cult Météorites Pearls are finely pressed to form a beautiful mosaic of light-enhancing slightly shimmery gold pieces and corrective shades of refreshing pink and light-catching mauve, plus a few chocolate hued ones to warm up the skin. The result is a skin that looks soft, smooth, delicate and beautifully natural.
Maybe I should’ve started with saying that this is the most pigmented of the three shades and that is the only one really noticeable on the skin. Even if there are only three pieces of pink coloured sections in this combination, I was so surprised to see how pink his powder shows on the skin! I was used to the translucent, more natural finish of the other two shades. I wouldn’t use it as an all-over powder though, mainly for that reason.
I also red while I was doing my researches, that #4 Doré was actually made for to serve that precise purpose: to give colour as a blush and luminosity as a highlighter.
But if you like that effect and you still want to use it all-over your face stay assured that it will still blur imperfections and it will subtly brighten your complexion without adding a lot of sheen.
The powder is soft and finely mild, but compared to the other two I found it a bit more drier and causing a lot more fall out, which for some might mean wasting a lot of product. I personally don’t mind it since it comes with a good 10g which I’m sure will last me quite a while. I only make sure to tap the whatever excess might be on the brush before the application.
I also like to apply it with fluffy, dense brush like my Tom Ford #06 Cheek Brush which I find perfect for the effect I want to get or the Hakuhodo J210 Blush Brush Round, but this one has shorter bristles which makes blending a bit more difficult. Using the Tom Ford brush, I’m sure that the application will be from the top of the bristles to build up the intensity of the colour and the blending will be done by the multiple bristles.
Here you have some hand swatches.
The scent is the usual delicate floral and feminine violet fragrance, inimitable and addictive for some, but I recognize that for some sensitive noses this might give a bit of a headache.
Overall impressions:
As with the Météorites Pearls, the Guerlain Météorites Compact Light-Revealing Powder is not an absolute must-have. The product is nice bit I very much prefer the Hourglass Ambient Lighting Powders ( see reviews here and here ) for the ultimate glowing, healthy skin.
It is definitely less spectacular to keep on your vanity than the Pearls as the packaging is… well, compact. But it is amazing for traveling because it takes less space and it’s easier to use – which is always a plus!
I’m not bothered by the, consistency, pigmentation, fall-out or by the scent!
Will I get another one? I don’t know!… I initial choice was the shade #2 Clair and of course, I still have my mind on it!
So what should I do, my lovelies? Should I get it as well? HELP!
What have else have you tried and think I should get as well?
I hope you’re having a great week! See you soon, beautiful!
xx, Annie
