annie's beauty... Loving Nudes #11

It’s time for another episode of the Loving Nudes series! And we’re already at #11, which means that there are other 10 episodes you need you catch up with?!… Ten more episodes, with at least ten more nude lipstick options! Well… That’s quite a lot of nudes to choose from, if you ask me! Haha!

So check them out and let me know what’s your favourite in the comments below!

annie's beauty... Loving Nudes #11 1

Now let’s get on to the actual review!

There’s no secret by now how much I love the Estée Lauder Pure Color Envy Sculpting Lipsticks! I love them in every formulation they come in – the original creamy one like these I’m talking about today, the matte one you can see me wearing here and I’m yet to try the Shines, which are supposed to be good dupes for another all-time favourite lipsticks of mine, the Chanel Rouge Coco Shines ( see my faves and some funny stories about them here and here! ).

In terms of formula, pigmetation and application Intense Nude and Implulsive, the two new lipstick nudes I’m focusing my attention on today, are no exception! They’re both creamy and soft, and glide onto the lips “hugging” them with pigment, in just one swipe. They last as much as any other cream lipstick on the market, and you definitely need to reapply during the day… If not for anything else, mostly for the fun of it, believe me!

130 Intense Nude is a not-too-deep-not-too-“superficial” dusty rose shade with brown, neutral undertones which gives it warmth and makes it more wearable, and suitable to many skin tones. A perfect balance of a gorgeous Pantone “café-au-laît” with soft, rosy tones in it, if you like!

210 Impulsive on the other hand, is another neutral but a muted pink this time, definitely lighter and brighter than Intense Nude… And girlier, why not?! It will be an excellent colour option to wear this upcoming spring and I’m looking forward to!

[ For swatches and comparisons check this link, here ]

OVERALL THOUGHTS:

I really love these Estée Lauder Pure Color Envy Sculpting Lipsticks in every colour I have tried so far ( check all my colour picks, with swatches here) !… And in every formulation! I highly recommend these two nude shades, especially if you’re on a hunt for a more than decent lipstick to wear at work, or in meetings! These two literally saved the day a couple of times, giving me confidence and making me look composed and on top of the situation, even if I was way, way far from that! Estée Lauder did an awesome job with this line!

I hope you had an awesome weekend this far!

See you soon, Beautiful!

xx, Annie

5 Lipsticks you absolutely MUST wear this Autumn – the 2015 Edit

Autumn 2015 Edit, bold lip, Chanel Rouge Coco Shine #99 Mélancolie, Charlotte Tilbury Matte Revolution lipstick Glastonberry, dark lipstick, lipstick, lipstick trend, NARS Audacious Lipstick Deborah, swatches, Tom Ford Matte Lip Colour #04 Pussycat, YSL Rouge Pure Couture The Mats #206 Grenat Satisfaction

5 Lipstick Recommendations Autumn 2015 Edit anniesbeautyblog

Don’t worry lovelies, you’re not having sight issues! In the picture above there are 3 times 5 lipsticks… Well, almost! These are all the lipsticks that I will definitely wear all Autumn long. But especially for you, I narrowed everything down to an Edit of 5 Shades that you have absolutely no excuse not to wear! A selection of everyday nudes and some gorgeous vampy, deep berries, dark chocolates and wine shades to go with any occasion.

Here you have THE MUSTs:

  1. CHARLOTTE TILBURY MATTE Revolution Lipstick in Glastonberry – a gorgeous deep berry shade with an extremely comfortable formulation. I will recommend wearing this one with the lip liner Berry Naughty, again from Charlotte Tilbury. ( see full review and swatches here )
  2. NARS Audacious Lipstick in Deborah – this is unlike any lipstick in my collection and a colour I would’ve sworn I’d never wear. Not the biggest fan of chocolate lipsticks, mainly because I lived through the ’90 and I saw so many browns worn so badly that it would be enough for me to go ewww! in front of any brown variation… But this one.. Oh, this NARS one is… Well you’ll see my thoughts on it in an upcoming review! Soon, I promise! This is another one I like to wear over a Charlotte Tilbury Lip Cheat Lip Liner – Hollywood Honey.
  3. YSL Rouge Pure Couture The Mats #206 Grenat Satisfaction – a gorgeous wine rusty red with warm undertones and no visible blues in it. I guess this one will suit so many skin tones so I definitely recommend it! ( review and swatches here )
  4. for an everyday/work appropriate/easy-to-apply-when-you’re-on-the-go lipstick I  definitely recommend one of the CHANEL Rouge Coco Shines from the Les Automnales 2015 Collection – #99 Mélancolie. ( full review on my picks from this collection here )
  5. and another nude-ish pick, I had to dig out from my collection, the TOM FORD MATTE Lipstick in #04 Pussycat – a gorgeous creamy matte purple-brown shade so easy to wear, so long lasting and so comfortable on the lips. ( full review here )

So yeah! Since I had to narrow everything down to 5 lipsticks – for the sake of this post obviously, otherwise we’d still be here at Christmas!, these would be my recommendations for the Autumn of 2015.

So over to you now! What are your recommendations?

See you soon, Beautiful!

xx, Annie

ESTÉE LAUDER Pure Color Envy Matte Lipstick 130 Desirous

Estée Lauder Pure Color Envy Matte 130 Desirous anniesbeautyblog

Half throughout this year, Estée Lauder came out with these new Pure Color Envy Matte Lipsticks. The teaser was the KJXEL Restless – a gorgeous red colour in an unique matte packaging, with Kendall Jenner’s autograph on it! A true collector’s item!

I really like the Pure Colour Envy lipsticks and you might have seen them a lot on my blog! One of the best formulation I have tried ever since I really got into makeup ( bold statement, right?! ) and decided to be serious about it – translation: blogging… I really like this lipstick line – period!… So you can imagine my excitement when I discovered they were going to launch a full line of Mattes as well!

I have one personal observation though! I wanted to read more reviews about the Estée Lauder lipsticks, but it was rather difficult to find them online! I’m not sure why, but I have a feeling that a lot of people still think about Estée Lauder products, lipsticks in particular, that they are so old fashioned and obsolete, and they mainly associate them with what their mothers and grandmothers used to carry in their makeup bags, with that old formula and a rather difficult strong fig scent to deal with…

But with these Pure Color Envy Lipsticks which are indeed very nice, I really think the the whole brand finally upped their game and definitely deserve more attention!

They’ve ditched the old scent for a gourmet vanillary one, like those delicious cupcakes. The packaging was also completely revamped having that lovely magnetic closure, very satisfactory for us beauty addicts for the sense of luxury it provides. The colour combination is lovely as well navy and gold, modern but with a hint of retro given by the gold accents and the somewhat bulky shape of the tube.

The formulation of these Matte Estée Lauder lipsticks is so… so lovely! Creamy, matte, intense it glides on the lips effortlessly, covering them evenly in a single swipe. They are very opaque, daring matte colours ( at least the ones that I own: Restless and Desirous ), and they last very well on the lips throughout the day. Once they fade, they do it with dignity and they won’t make you look like an unintentional  Halloween character!

I hope you get to see through my limited 2D pictures how creamy and beautifully matte this formulation is! And extremely moisturizing for being a matte! And when I say “matte”, I really mean it! This is definitely a matte finish… Not a creamy matte like the NARS Audacious lipsticks, no traces of shimmer or glossiness at all! Lately, I prefer lipsticks that they really “can do” matte… almost like the drying matte finish of a MAC lipstick, except for the actually drying part!…

Estée Lauder Pure Color Envy Matte lipstick anniesbeautyblog

Desirous – such a lovely, meaningful name ( desirous “adjective de·sir·ous \di-ˈzī(-ə)r-əs\ :wanting or wishing for something very much : feeling desire for something”, from the Merriam-Webster Dictionary ) is definitely an Autumnal shade. A deep, chocolate brown with red undertones, as matte in finish as it can get… I was telling you that I prefer this kind of vamp-y, deep, daring, statement lip colours, formulation and finish lately… It’s maybe because I think that I wore enough glitz, glam and glossiness on my lips last Summer… Therefore, a true matte finish and a dark lip colour capture the smokiness and the depth of this “sad” season…

I could babble and babble about the ESTÉE LAUDER Pure Color Envy Matte Lipsticks for hours and hours, so I might just stop now and ask for your opinion on these… Have you tried them yet? Are you as impressed as I am? Would you give them a go?… There are plenty of shades for you to choose from… check here!

Thanks for reading and as always…

See you soon, Beautiful!

xx, Annie

The Classic Old Hollywood Diva Lipstick? w/ Dolce & Gabbana Sophia Loren No. 1

Dolce & Gabbana Sophia Loren No.1 Lipstick anniesbeautyblog

Launched in honour of their eternal muse Sophia Loren ( b. 20 September 1934 ), just one day after her 81st birthday celebration, the Dolce & Gabbana Sophia Loren No.1 Lipstick is every makeup collector’s dream. A Limited Edition luxurious item created by the Designers as a “loving tribute” to the Italian beauty icon and to all women out there.

Designed with the help of Sophia herself, this unique shade of red is unlike any other red you have ever seen! Described as “bright cherry-red” with deep pink, almost fuchsia undertones, this shade was designed to enhance the deep pigmentation in her lips, making it “her red, her signature” – a rich, glossy and unique shade!

Dolce & Gabbana Sophia Loren No.1 Lipstick anniesbeautyblog

The formulation is spot on! So creamy that glides smoothly onto the lips coating them in an ultralight, very comfortable sheer layer made with skin conditioning ingredients that add moisture, and a beautiful, glossy and glamorous shine.

The colour is easily buildable, without being patchy or feeling uncomfortable.

… Everything encased in this elegant gold tube with the autograph of Sophia Loren written on it!

*Note the increased attention to details – the impeccable D&G logo embossed on the actual bullet! Swoon*

Dolce & Gabbana Sophia Loren No.1 Lipstick anniesbeautyblog swatch

Please excuse the crappy light, but this is how this lipstick looks against my already pale skin! Two swipes and it looks like the most wearable shade of “red” I own in my collection!

Confused much?!

The description on their website isn’t the most accurate, right?! I definitely see it more of dusky, a pink toned “almost-red” – if you insist, that should look wonderfully natural on most skin tones…

I guess that’s because it is so sheer it mixes with the predominant pink pigments in my lips and the result is this colour instead which, let’s be honest!, is absolutely fabulous… for a nude! So, actually, I don’t mind it too much!

*Side note: D&G never made a secret out of customizing this shade to enhance the deep pigmentation in Sophia’s lips though, so it should be expected not to look the same on everyone else!*

However, the only thing I found a bit challenging for me was the scent! That old, powdery, rose scent was overwhelming when firstly applied! It sure fades after a while but you have to give it time!

Trust me, everything else about this lipstick is SO amazing that I won’t be put off by such little details, and you’ll definitely see the Dolce & Gabbana Sophia Loren No.1 Lipstick featured in more posts on annie’s beauty… .

What do you think, Beautiful? Impressed or not?

xx, Annie

ESTÉE LAUDER Pure Color Envy Lipsticks – an overdue review and swatches

I’ve been enjoying these Estée Lauder Pure Color Envy lipsticks for quite a while now, but I somehow never thought to write a proper review on them! Why?! – I have no idea! But here I am now, correcting that mistake!

These were launched somewhere at the beginning of last year ( February – March, I can’t remember clearly! ), in 21 shades that include various shades from beiges to pinks to corals and plums. I only(?!) have them in five shades, that much I love them: #130 Intense Nude, #210 Implusive, #240 Tumultous Pink, #330 Impassioned and #450 Insolent Plum – my favorite name and shade.

imageimage

Formulation:

These lipsticks are one of the creamiest I have ever tried on, therefore they glide on effortlessly, covering evenly every part of your lip. They feel so soft and smooth though, like velvet: sensual and luxuriously comfortable. They saturate your lips with high-intensity colour in just one pass. The final result will be lips that look beautifully shaped, sculpted, curvaceous thanks to the multi-faceted pigments in their formulation, that coat your lips in the most beautiful pigmented colours. They also keep your lips continuously hydrated throughout the day, with a patented Time-released Moisture Complex that helps capture and seal-in hydration, adding the softest glossiness finish to the whole look. They wear for a couple of hours without feathering or settling into the creases of your lips, and tend to fade evenly as well.

image

Colour description and swatches:

#130 Intense Nude was along with Impulsive one of my first picks ( no surprise there, right!? ) but I’ve never had the chance to wear any of them yet ( Nope! Don’t ask!… ). It’s that lovely brownish-nude Kylie Jenner-like colour, that made everybody go nuts a couple of months back!

#210 Implusive is also a beautiful nude, lighter than Intense Nude!…

But, with your permission, I will leave the rest of the review on these two nudes for another post ( here ), another one for the Loving Nudes Series, move on and focus on…

#240 Tumultous Pink. This is the perfect colour for those with really pigmented lips, to pair with a relaxed, everyday outfit – the jeans, white tee and a pair of heels kind of look! It’s in a way similar to Insolent Plum but lighter and rosier, and the pink in it leans more bright, more of a proper fuchsia. But the cooler, blue undertones in it are similar to those in Insolent Plum for sure.

image image

# 330 Impassioned is one of the reds I really loved wearing at this winter’s parties. It’s a gorgeous bright orange-red, with warm undertones and a soft shine. Not the most unique colour, as I have another 6(?!?!?!)  red lipsticks that are really similar to it. Umm… Yeah! See for yourself in this post here.

I wore Impassioned in this post here.

#450 Insolent Plum is – as I already told you, my favourite of them all. And my most worn! It’s a fabulous deep, rich, purple berry shade, with cool undertone – intense and and gloriously plummy! An excellent option to wear in the colder months!

You can see swatches of Insolent Plum in this post here.

Packaging:

They come in this beautiful, signature packaging, a lacquered deep blue and gold case, with the name of the brand embossed on the top of the lid and on the inside as well! It closes with one of those satisfactory, luxurious, magnetic clicks…

image – image source Pinterest

image

Overall thoughts:

I absolutely adore the formulation of these! They’re so, so easy to apply and not drying on the lips, and the color pay-off is also amazing! So is the lasting power! Definitely recommend them!

Lusting after…

… that new and Limited Edition Kendall Jenner x Estée Lauder Matte Red they came out with last month! It’s called Restless and it’s the perfect balance between a poppy red and orange. Excellent for the hot Summer nights! Too bad it’s an online available only!

Totally addicted to TOM FORD Summer 2015 Soleil Collection: the New and Limited Edition Lip Color Sheers in Skinnydip & Rose Soleil

Another week, another update on the Tom Ford Soleil Summer 2015 Collection!

image

These lipsticks were my favourite lately but they aren’t everyone’s favourite formula! Most people who like the really pigmented, saturated with colour and highly opaque Tom Ford Lip Color original lipsticks, might be a little disappointed after trying these because they are, as their name suggests, a sheer product.

To be completely honest with you, it took me quite a long time as well to justify splurging on these… Until I got my first one that is! My first pick was #02 Smitten, followed closely by the beautiful, everyday nude #05 Bare, both previously reviewed on this little blog.

And with new colours incased in the beautiful ivory and gold special, limited edition, they come with every summer, I knew I couldn’t say no to them anymore and grabbed whatewer shades I found available online.

So, here you have the Tom Ford Sheer Lip Color in #09 Skinnydip and #10 Rose Soleil!

image

#09 Skinnydip is more if a peachy colour with pink undertones to it. You can clearly see how the gold shimmers in it transfer on the lips… There’s no need of a close up because they’re obvious! This was the only colour out of the four that came up with this collection that I had second thoughts about! And it was precisely because of these glitters that give your lips more of a metallic sheen rather than a touch of colour.

image

But the more I wore it, the more I liked it! And with a bit of a tan on, this looks absolutely, effortlessly fabulous, even with a semi-sheer coverage and the actual product that feels a little “thin” in consistency than any other Tom Ford Sheer that I own!

image

#10 Rose Soleil can be described as a semi-sheer, soft plummy colour with warm brown undertones and holographic glitters, not as obvious on the lips as the ones in Skinnydip though. They are easily seizable on the bullet due to the deepness of the colour and in certain lights appear more of a muted gold and more pink. I love them as a  final touch as they give your lips a diffused, ethereal shine.

image

On my pigmented lips it translates as this beautiful rosy colour with an extra-something added by the soft, shiny finish I mentioned earlier.

These two new shades are simply amazing for the Summer, even Rose Soleil that I initially thought it is more of an Autumn shade! But no, it works as well this time of the year too due to those magical shiny particles in it!

imageimage

They both create a lovely luminous look, they brighten up your complexion, they make your lips look fuller and plumped. They are also a little bit more moisturising than the other Tom Ford lipsticks I own ( see some of them here, here and here ) and they are definitely the most low maintenance ones from their entire lipstick range, excellent for an on-the-go application!

I definitely recommend them both, although I’m aware that they’re not for everyone!

What do you think about them lovely? Have you tried them yet?

See you soon, Beautiful!

My TOM FORD Lip Colour Matte picks: Pink Tease, Pussycat, Plum Lush and Flame

You’d be definitely entitled to ask what in the world took me so long to write this review! But oh well, it is how it is!…

The Tom Ford Holiday 2014 Lip Colour Matte Lipsticks were launched mid Autumn this past year and if you ask me, they didn’t caused that much of a commotion in the beauty world… And that is so unfair because the quality of these lipsticks is definitely up to name they wear!

The entire collection is made of 8 gorgeous shades: Pink Tease, Pussycat, Plum Lush, Flame, Ruby Rush, Velvet Cherry, First Time, and Black Dahlia. Six out of the 8 shades are – thank goodness!, permanent and only 2 came as a Limited Edition: First Time and as expected, Black Dhalia.

image

image

The formula is creamy, it is so soft and velvety that it feels almost cushiony when applied and it literally glides effortlessly on the lips. Almost all fully opaque in just one swipe they go on evenly without sliding around or gathering in the creases of the lips.

They probably are one of the most pigmented lipsticks in my entire lipstick wardrobe, and shades like the reds and the darker ones actually leave a discreet stain on the lips after fading. The fading is rather uniform, without any weird patches.

The finish is not the drying matte finish you might be used with and some of you actually might like. It is without a doubt a matte but a creamy matte with just the right balance of luminosity. This is possible because of the rare and exotic ingredients including Soja Seed Extract, Brazilian Murumuru Butter and Chamomilla Flower Oil. So no need to prepare your lips before applying them if you don’t have major lip issues.

They are pretty similar in terms of formula and finish to the Charlotte Tilbury Matte Revolution Lipsticks I already reviewed here.

My picks are:

image

– #03 Pink Tease – a light to medium pink with warm undertones. It’s not too pale to wash you out and not too bright, it’s the perfect balance of pigment and undertones to make it an excellent everyday effortless colour, especially for very fair to fair complexions.

image

– #04 Pussycat – definitely a cooler, more muted pink than Pink Tease and it has the most beautiful plum undertones. It is a tinge more mauve than my lip colour and it is literally one of the best my-lips-but-better, everyday shade. It’s also my favorite next to Flame.

image

– #05 Plum Lush – the darkest from all the Tom Ford mattes I got. It has these gorgeous medium to dark raspberry hues mixed with cooler, blue undertones which makes it a great shade to wear in the colder months.

image

– #06 Flame. You might have seen Flame compared to my Chanel Rouge Coco #440 Arthur in this post here. The colour is similar: a bright,  medium to dark orange-red with warm undertones. Of course, the one that makes the difference between the two is the finish. Flame is a luminous matte when Chanel’s Arthur has a bright, glossy finish.

Here you have some hand swatches:

image

They might not be everyone’s cup of cake in terms of formula or colour selection. But I highly recommend the Tom Ford Matte Lip Colours if you have been searching for a semi-matte formula suitable for dry and sensitive lips.

What do you think? Are you a fan of the semi-matte lipstick formula or you prefer the classic matte ( MAC-like ) formula?

See you soon, beautiful!

xx, Annie

CHARLOTTE TILBURY MATTE Revolution lipsticks Lost Cherry, Amazing Grace and Walk of Shame

Charlotte Tilbury, Charlotte Tilbury Matte Revolution Amazing Grace, Charlotte Tilbury Matte Revolution Lost Cherry, Charlotte Tilbury Walk of Shame, lipstick, matte, review, swatches

image

Lately, you might have seen featured in a lot of my Instagram posts these perfect Charlotte Tilbury MATTE Revolution lipsticks and today I’m back with another Charlotte Tilbury sweet treat – a full review! I hope you don’t mind it! Haha!…

That is simply because I love them so much. The formula on these is well… just different than anything I have tried before, different than any matte lipstick in my collection.

First of all they’re matte and long lasting on the lips but not at all drying. Even if they are matte they still manage somehow to look luminous and feel lightweight on the lips.

image

All the colours are incredibly pigmented and they literally glide on the lips thanks to the amazing blend of hydrating and nourishing oils in the formula ( orchid and lipstick tree extract, that is! ). One swipe will actually be enough to pack on the right amount colour to make for a right application.

Today I have for you three new shades: Lost Cherry, Amazing Grace and Walk of Shame. But before I start reviewing these gorgeous colours I have to let you know that these are not my first Charlotte Tilbury MATTE Revolution lipsticks. Everything started with the shade Sexy Sienna, previously reviewed here, and I knew I had to go back and get these other shades too… That much I love the formula, the application and the lasting power of these gorgeous lipsticks.

image

Lost Cherry ( swatched in the picture above ) is a bright and happy, fresh cherry pink red. This pastel fuchsia is the “happiest” colour of the entire range, and with the upcoming Spring I thought it will make a great option for a simple, girly look!

Amazing Grace is a vintage tea rose, which I imagined to be a bit more pale from the swatches I saw online, and a bit more on the nude side than rosy. Don’t get me wrong, it’s a beautiful everyday shade that I’m sure it will look flattering on ladies of any age and so many different skin types! And I equally love it!

image

In the picture above you can see Amazing Grace which I used to create a look with the Charlotte Tilbury The Uptown Girl Eyeshadow Palette a while ago! See post here!

 image

Walk of Shame is a berry tinted rose which I mainly got because it’s complimentary to my beloved The Dolce Vita Eyeshadow Palette, also from Charlotte Tilbury. But I’m so happy I did because the colour is gorgeous on my lips and it’s like nothing else in my collection!

image – here you have some hand swatches too!

One more thing that I really like is the square shape of the actual lipstick which makes defining your lips so accessible, makes drawing the cupid bow on your upper lash with high accuracy and also fits perfectly into the corners of the lips which we all know how difficult is to do without messing up! That’s why using a lip liner with these lipsticks is absolutely optional!

I absolutely love the retro, beautiful and feminine, rose gold packaging with the Charlotte Tilbury logo embossed on the lid. The closure is “étanche” which will definitely prevent the lipstick from going bad before time.

Here you have my MATTE Revolution picks! Which one are you lusting after?

See you soon beautiful!

xx, Annie

INTERESTING FACT:

– the Charlotte Tilbury MATTE Revolution Lipsticks are colour coordinated with her amazing Luxury Colour-Coded Eyeshadow Palettes ( reviews here, here and here ) but more about that matter here.

BURBERRY Lip Cover #18 Ruby… I had to!…

Burberry, Lip Cover #18 Ruby, lipstick, red

Happy New Year Beautiful, and welcome to 2015!

How to open the blogging series in 2015 if not with another amazing red lipstick I discovered recently ( when Burberry launched their Spring Collection to be more precise )?! It’s the gorgeous Lip Cover in #18 Ruby!

image

These Burberry lipsticks are not new to me ( you might have seen them featured in several posts this past year; here, here and here ). But #18 Ruby is a shade which always caught my eye but never got the chance to try it on because it was always out of stock.

image

I know! Another red you might say! But #18 Ruby is a beautiful, lush, slightly blue-based red which can be easily worn on both pale skins and warm toned skins. Not the most unique of colours but gorgeous nonetheless!

And you never have enough red lipsticks, right?! Besides that you know I have an addiction… Tom Ford reds, Dior reds, a bit of Éstee Lauder and Givenchy, some more Tom Ford and of course, Burberry…

Ruby is very pigmented and easy to apply on the lips thanks to a lightweight combination of nourishing oils and gel dispersed pigments which ensures intense moisture and long lasting colour at the same time. And it goes on almost opaque without feeling heavy or sticky in any way. It also has a satin finish, with a soft sheen to it.

image

Like all the Burberry Lip Covers I have tried, #18 looks very flattering on the lips and because it contains anti-aging ceramides, it will leave your lips fuller and beautifully defined.

image

It applies smoothly and it’s not patchy so it doesn’t require a lot of work and patience to put it on.

Need I say more to convince you to try it whenever you get the chance to be near a Burberry counter?!

Again, Happy New Year Beautiful! And let’s make a great one out of 2015 together!

How gorgeous Tom Ford Lipsticks are it’s not a secret to anyone anymore.

The extremely sensual shades, that satisfactory closing click you hear every time you finish applying it ( which I think it’s pretty much the same feeling men have when they get the chance to close the door of the latest Maseratti release ), the envious glances you inevitably get when you casually(!) reach for your lipstick out of your bag… Mister Tom Ford got us used to all that now!… and there’s no way back!

Tom Ford Lipstick #11 Crimson Noir is a gorgeous deep red with blue undertones but it’s not that kind of a deep burgundy-red I expected it to be because of its name ( crimson: which usually goes for a deep or vivid red colour and noir: which obviously stands for “black”, in French ).

On the first swipe it goes on more like a pinky-red, which is gorgeous worn for the “stain” effect, but I like to wear it in full-force and it is still the most wearable red in my entire collection.

Unlike my other Tom Ford Lipsticks, Crimson Noir has the softest hint of shimmer which only gives the most natural glossiness to my lips. I’m not the biggest gloss wearer, but at this time of the year I really find myself gravitating towards such luminous colours. It’s the festive season lovelies! What better time to wear glossy reds than this?!

It is incredibly smooth and hydrating because it contains a lot of really moisturizing and lip conditioning ingredients which makes it creamy and not drying at all ( read more about the ingredients here ).

Even though it’s really creamy it has a lot of pigmentation and amazing lasting power. The wear time goes up to 5, even 6 hours ( probably the longest I get from all my red lipsticks ) and the colour is still there even after having a meal. When it starts to fade, you’ll only realize that the lipstick looses it’s luminosity; most part of the pigment it’s still there, even if you’re not using a lip liner underneath.

Here you have all my Tom Ford Lispticks to date ( Sheers not included! ), and all of them are reviewed here on anniesbeautyblog.com if you want to have a good read…

From right to left we have: #13 Blush Nude, #07 Pink Dusk, #11 Crimson Noir and the latest addition #15 Wild Ginger.

9 more days until Christmas, Beautiful! Who’s counting with me?

See you soon!

xx, Annie
