PM Skincare routine…

Tags

Balance Me, Diptyque, Elemis, First Aid Beauty, Kielh's, L'Occitane, night time routine, Omorovicza, Oskia, skincare

This is my current nighttime skincare routine step by step!

STEP I:

– TIE HAIR UP – these might seem like a lot of hair ties and pins, but these go missing like crazy, so it’s always a good idea to keep a “few” in hand. Love these ones from Oysho.

image

STEP II:

– TAKE MAKEUP OFF – I’m a huge fan of cleansing. I firmly believe that a clean skin is a healthy skin… Therefore I double or triple-cleanse!

Here is how a triple cleanse sounds like:

I’m starting with some L’Occitane Cleansing Milk on two large cotton pads to take off most of my makeup. Then I wash my face with an oil cleanser, my pick: the L’Occitane Cleansing Oil and to make sure that there’s no makeup residue whatsoever I also use a tiny bit of the First Aid Beauty Face Cleanser combined with the Diptyque Radiance Boosting Powder.

On days where I’m not wearing a full-face of makeup, I skip on the L’Occitane Cleansing Oil and go directly to the First Aid Beauty Face Cleanser + Diptyque Radiance Boosting Powder combination.

image

STEP III:

– USE A TONER/EXFOLIATING PADS – I spritz some of the Omorovicza Queen of Hungary Mist on a regular cotton pad, then gently, in circular motions I take it all-over my face. Every other day I replace the face mist with one of the First Aid Beauty Facial Radiance Pads. These are amazing for a gentle acid exfoliation and they also tone and brighten your complexion. More on these coming soon!

image

STEP IV:

– HYDRATION + MOISTURE – USE A FACE SERUM – the one I’m currently using and loving the effect it has on my skin, is this Kiehl’s Midnight Recovery Concentrate, of which I only use a few drops rubbed between the palm of my hands, then I press it into the skin. This is fast absorbing and doesn’t leave any greasy residue… I already wrote a review on it here!

                                         – USE AN EYE CREAM – I’m was testing for quite a while this Balance Me Wonder Eye Cream a lightweight, yet very hydrating eye cream Alina from Debenhams UK kindly enough to sent it over, along with the Kiehl’s Serum. The review is already up!

                                         – USE A MOISTURIZER – my moisturizer of choice has been lately the Elemis Hydra-Nourish Night Cream, an anti-oxidant, rich night cream. But for an extra boost of moisture and hydration I always reach for another First Aid Beauty product, the Ultra Repair Cream – a very, very rich cream that offers intense hydration for dry, parched skin.

image

                       – USE A LIP BALM – the lip balm I’m still loving at the moment is the Omorovicza Perfecting Lip Balm. I know, I kind of strayed away from my beloved By Terry Baume de Rose, but I felt that the Omorovicza one suited my needs better.

                       – USE A HAND CREAM – don’t forget about your hands! They also need to be moisturized regularly, especially at this time of the year. I still have left some of the Laura Mercier Fresh Fig Hand Cream, that I try to finish up. *Gosh, this smells delicious!* This would be the last hand cream in my stash then I will have to purchase a new one! Any good recommendations?

I would love to know what your PM Skincare Routine consists of, so please kindly share it in the Comments below!

Also keep in mind that this daily routine doesn’t include masks and other treatments I use! These will be featured in a separate post!

See you soon, beautiful!

OMOROVICZA Queen of Hungary Face Mist – review

image

I promissed that my next skin care item that will receive a review here on annie’s beauty…, will be this Omorovicza Queen of Hungary Face Mist, a product that is part of my skincare routine for over a year now. I went through several bottles – that good it is!

But what is this magical product?

The Queen of Hungary Mist is one of the Omorovicza Budapest best selling product, along with the Thermal Cleansing Balm, and also very hyped product in the beauty community. Read more about the brand and the reviews on a couple of Omorovicza products, here ). It’s a gentle, aromatic toner for a hydrating energizing burst of energy for your skin when needed. It purifies and tones while providing lasting hydration and restoring suppleness to your complexion. It basically is a neroli and rose-scented water infusion you can use as a second step ( after double or triple cleansing – for some of us, of course ) in your skincare routine, but you can also spritz it anytime you want to refresh yourself or your makeup.

I always make sure to bring with me in my hand luggage when I’m flying, any kind of face mist ( actually I can’t live without face mists and/or micellair waters, since for me they even replace the harsh, drying tap water… Read more about my favourites and how I use them, in this post here ) and the Omorovicza Queen of Hungary Face Mist is always my first choice and the best I’ve used this far! Even if the flight isn’t too long, my skin feels the dryness of the air conditioner from the plane. So I take this out… Pouf! Pouf!… And it refreshes and hydrates my face in a second! I am sure that it helped me reduce the stress of the flight too, so for longer flights I think it would come handy!

image – one gone, one more to go!

It comes in a very luxurious feeling and looking 100 ml matte glass bottle, with a convenient spritzer.

A beautiful product – super luxurious and heavenly smelling!

Have you tried the Omorovicza Queen of Hungary Face Mist yet, beautiful? Do you have a personal favourite  face mist/micellair water? Please share your secrets in the Comment section below.

See you soon! xx, Annie

INTERESTING FACTS:

– ALL Omorovicza Budapest products are made of natural ingredients.

– they DO NOT contain parabens, sulfates, phthalates, petrochemicals, silicone, PEGs (polyethylene glycol), synthetic colors, or artificial fragrances.

– skin types that can use Omorovicza products: Sensitive, Dry, Oily, Combination/Normal

This Winter’s Lip Saviours: Omorovicza, By Terry and Dior

By Terry, By Terry Baume de Rose, By Terry Rose Balm Gloss, dior, Dior Lip Glow Colour Reviver Balm, Dior Lip Maximizer, Omorovicza, Omorovicza Perfecting Lip Balm, review

This month was all about some amazing lip products here on annie’s beauty… The Tom Ford Lips&Boys, the Charlotte Tilbury MATTE Revolution Lipsticks, another of my Perfect Nudes discoveries also from Charlotte Tilbury, my favourite lip liners at the moment… And some new ones that are yet to be published, which I’m so excited about!

As you’ll might anticipate, a lot of lip swatches were envolved in the process so my lips kind of had to suffer too! That corroborated with “the Mother of all Colds” => my lips were almost an absolute mess!

What I used to put them back on track were: my holy grail lip treatment By Terry Baume de Rose, in pot form and for when I’m on the go I also used the By Terry Baume de Rose Crystal. When I didn’t used those, I turned to my second best the lip treatment of choice the Omorovicza Perfecting Lip Balm, an amazing product I recently discovered. The last but not the least was my Dior Addict Lip Glow Colour Reviver Balm and the Dior Addict Lip Maximizer Collagen Active, which are permanent “inhabitants” of my bag and I take them with me wherever I go. How many lip products do I currently have in my bag?! You don’t wanna know!

image

The By Terry Baume de Rose is until now the best lip treatment I have ever used. It’s a thick, rose scented lip balm that I use mainly as an overnight treatment!

Of course, like all very hyped products the Baume de Rose has both positive and negative reviews… That it’s too thick ( what would you expect from a lip treatment though!? ), that the rose scent is overpovering… I really love it and I feel that after using it at night, the following day my lips feel amazing! Plus it’s such a versatile product! It can be used on your nails and cuticles, on your elbows or any dry patches! Be careful with how much you sladder on because it’s not the cheapest thing ever! But the 10g little jar lasts me for a good couple of months! I’m On my 3rd one already!

Last year By Terry launched her iconic Baume de Rose in 6 tinted versions ( read more about that here ).

The one in lip gloss form, the By Terry Baume de Rose Crystal comes with me in my bag, everywhere. It’s more of a day-use friendly product, easy to apply when you’re on the go and your lips need a bit of a pick me up!

annie's beauty... OMOROVICZA

The Omorovicza Perfecting Lip Balm is the most recent lip care product I got! I got it with this amazing offer. But don’t worry! Omorovicza periodically comes up with amazing offers and discounts! You only need a subscription to their website to be the first to know… Or, you can keep reading or subscribe to annie’s beauty…! Haha!

This lip treatment is the perfect  product to revive and nourish dry lips. With shea butter, eucalyptus and hyaluronic spheres, the gently tingling balm leaves lips fuller, softer and smoother. It has as main ingredients: hyaluronic filling spheres, omega 6 ceramide, virgin plum oil. It’s minty and delicious, and highly effective! Already a favourite of mine!

image

The Dior Addict Lip Glow Colour Reviver Balm is another long time love of mine, but I’m sure everybody knows and loves it as well! This is a  sensationally sheer lip balm that responds to the color chemistry of your own lips to create a shade uniquely yours by enhancing your own natural lip color. It also makes your lips look more plumped, moisturized, and most important because I mainly use it during the day due to the easy application, adds in a bit of a sun protection factor!

Dior Addict Lip Maximizer Collagen Active is a revolutionary lip treatment that stimulates collagen synthesis and restructures lips within 15 days. The incredible volume effect due to the key ingredient in its formula – the collagen, can be easily seen from the first application though, and gives a long-term freshness to the lips.

That’s why the Dior Addict Lip Glow Colour Reviver Balm and the Dior Addict Lip Maximizer Collagen Active are the backstage essential beauty secret for the sensual lips, the Dior models rocked in the presentations where Peter Philips– the creative and image director of Christian Dior Makeup worked his magic ( see here, here ).

Recently Charlotte Tilbury launched two lip care products too, a lip scrub ( the Lip Love Lip Renewing Honeybee Scrub ) and a lip treatment ( the Lip Magic Rejuvenating, Smoothing Propolis Balm ) which I’m dying to try! Definitely will be on my order summary of my next purchase!

What are your lip saviours for the colder months, or in general?

Lots of xx,

Annie

AM skincare routine…

Foreo, Luna Mini, morning routine, Omorovicza, Oskia, Oskia Renaissance Cleansing Gel, Paula's Choice, Queen of Hungary Mist, Resist Barrier Moisturizer with Retinol, Sarah Chapman, skincare, Skinesis Morning Facial

After a couple of weeks when I posted reviews of some of my skincare staples at the moment ( maybe I should say “skin saviors”! ), I think it’s just about the right time to put them together in a post and tell you how I make them work for me. So this is my Morning skincare routine…

What my skin needs especially during this colder months is deep hydration and calming the eventual vascular lesions, the main cause of my rosacea.

image

Next I will share with you the products I use and the actual steps of my morning skincare routine.

Step 1: I take one pump of my Oskia Renaissance Cleansing Gel and massage it into my dry face. Then, for a deeper cleanse, I wet my Foreo Luna Mini ( review coming soon ) and massage my face for at least one minute. This device is so clever that it will tell you when to stop and when you need to move to another area. After that I clean my face from any residue with a muslin cloth and move on to…

Step 2 which is cleansing my face with a few spritzes of Omorovicza Queen of Hungary Face Mist on a cotton pad. This roses and minerals infused water leaves the skin clean but at the same time soft and hydrated.

image16 copy

Step 3 is to apply my morning serum. Now I’m using and loving the results from Sarah Chapman Skinesis Morning Facial. This is an amazing serum/oil, beautiful for a day wear. It absorbs instantly and doesn’t leave any oily residue. Read the complete review here.

Then Step 4, my daily moisturizer which at the moment is  Paula’s Choice Resist Barrier Moisturizer with Retinol. Great moisturizer, made with natural ingredients, suitable for all skin types. Using this moisturizer there’s no need to add an eye cream because it is a multitasking product… But you can read more on that here.

Step 5 is to moisturize my lips, especially during the colder seasons my lips need extra care. So, I think that the Omorovicza Lip Perfector does an amazing job at hydrating and nourishing my lips.

The final Step, 6th in my skincare routine is to apply SPF. The product I fell in love with lately is another Omorovicza one, the Complexion Corrector SPF 20. As the name suggests it’s a complexion corrector which helps me reduce the appearance of red cheeks and diminishes imperfections. The SPF 20 comes as a very much welcomed bonus. I wear it under my makeup and it works amazing as a primer as well. I prefer it mainly on days where I don’t have to wear makeup though, as a final step in my skincare routine.

And I’m good to go!

What are your skincare favourites/saviours at the moment? Please share!

See you soon, beautiful!

xx, Annie

OMOROVICZA Complexion Corrector SPF 20 the best face product I discovered lately

Complexion Corrector, new release, Omorovicza, review, skincare, SPF 20

Ever since the seasons changed, it seems like between me and my skin was an open war! Accentuated rosacea, sore, red dry patches, spots… It was like the festival of complexion issues all-over my skin!

I completely changed my skin care routine with products ment to calm down my angry skin, and I have to admit I can see huge results!

But the one product I reached for and made my skin look decent was the Omorovicza Complexion Corrector SPF 20.

IMG_0597 copy

A moisturizer, sunscreen and primer in one, it evens and brightens tone, covers imperfections, soothes irritated skin and reduces the appearance of age spots.

Like all Omorovicza products, the Complexion Corrector SPF 20 is powered by the healing waters of Budapest known for their unusual rich mineral content Copper, Zinc, Calcium and Magnesium.

The key active ingredients in this product are Hyaluronic Acid, Vitamin C, Apple Pectin, Ruby Crystal Powder, Zinc Oxide and Titanium Dioxide, Complex of Zinc PCA, Vitamin B3 and Sulphurus Extract of Watercress.

What pulls everything together is the Hydro Mineral Transference™, a patented mineral delivery system created in the Nobel Prize Winning Hungarian Laboratory of Dermatology, which “ensures the absorption of minerals at unprecedent levels”.

IMG_0599 copy

It is the final step in my morning skin care routine and ever since I started using it I find that my makeup applies easier, lasts longer and I also have all the added benefits for the skin, this product provides. It has a good amount of SPF ( 20 ) which blocks the sun ( both UVA and UVB rays) but it is also a barrier for all the nasty ingredients my makeup is inevitably made with.

It is the last layer of product I use on my skin on my days-off when I don’t have to wear makeup. It evens out my complexion, diminishing my rosacea, any hyperpigmentation and also the aspect of enlarged pores ( the main issues my skin deals with ).

I have sensitive skin but I haven’t experienced any irritation or spots, which many SPF products can cause!

Bottom line, it’s a multifunctional product that I think everyone should incorporate it in their skin care routine!

See you soon, beautiful!

xx, Annie

The starting over TAG

Burberry, chanel, dior, Giorgio Armani, guerlain, Hakuhodo, Hourglass, Omorovicza, Oskia, Starting Over Tag, tag, Tom Ford

I was tagged at the beginning of September to do the Starting over TAG by the lovely Brianna, the girl behind the amazing Cruelty Free Me Blog. As the name of this blog suggests, Brianna is a girl passionate about beauty made with natural, organic ingredients, eco friendly and cruelty free. Cruelty Free Me is one of the blogs on this platform I enjoy reading, because when I need a good dose of “healthy” everything, she can fix me at any time.

For as much as I love the idea of this tag I completely forgot about it! It all starts with the hypothesis that all your makeup and skincare suddenly disappears – God forbid! Knock on wood! Jinx! etc. …

After the recovery from your initial heart attack, panic attack and being a human again and not a vengeance hairy beast, what would be the 16 products you would purchase?

Why 16?! I have no idea!…

So here are mine:

image

1) FACE MISTS… LOAD OF face mists, starting with my beloved Omorovicza Queen of Hungary Face Mist

2) my FOREO LUNA MINI ( review coming soon ) or in the normal size. This amazing device helps you deep cleanse your skin witout irritating it. I got amazing results from it in just a matter of days, things that I can’t say about the Clarisonic which was total fail and made my skin worse.

3) moisturizer for day and night. Depending on the season the “calamity” happens, let’s say it’s autumn/winter time I will go for Oskia Nutri-active Day Cream and for nighttime I will buy the Omorovicza Rejuvenating Night Cream.

4) what I discovered to work extremely well with the Foreo Luna is the Oskia Renaissance Cleansing Gel, the best cleanser I have ever used

image

5) foundation I would buy first: Giorgio Armani Luminous Silk Foundation, but that’s no surprise since you had enough of me raving about it. Definitely my holy grail foundation!

6) I like to apply this foundation with my beauty blender so I will have one of those too.

7) for eyeshadows I will go and get myself Trench, Almond and Pale Barley Sheer Eye Shadows from Burberry for a simple, everyday eye look.

8) I find that these creamy, buttery soft eye shadows are applied best with the Hakuhodo blending brushes from the J Series ( review here ) so I will definitely get me some of those.

9) my mascara will be Chanel’s Le Volume the best mascara I have ever had.

10) and the Shu Uemura S Lash Curler. I have this thing I can’t go out without curling my lashes. I’m not the biggest wearer of eyeshadow that’s why I think that curling your eye lashes adds a bit of something else to the eyes. Besides that, curling your lashes makes your eyes look more opened and awake.

11) the Guerlain Terracotta 4 Seasons Bronzer to bring some life to my usually pale skin and to go along with it my beloved.

12) Tom Ford Bronzer Brush already reviewed here.

13) my next logical purchase would be blush. And here is where I will have a real problem! I love all my blushes and I use them quite a lot! Maybe the first ones I will be will be those in the Hourglass Ambient Lighting Blush Palette. I think it will be a good deal! I would have multiple options! But my second purchase will definitely be my Burberry #06 Tangerine, then my Tom Ford #02 Frantic Pink.

14) on my lips I will definitely wear Dior’s Lip Maximizer as I love how plumped and delicious makes my lips look, then I will purchase a bold colour because I can’t live without wearing a bold lip.

15) I can’t go out or to work without having clean, well cured nails so I will also buy a cuticle oil and a nail polish which will probably be in a nude colour, like Dior’s #108 Muguet.

16) and raw honey, coconut oil and tea tree oil will be my last purchases. I use them for almost anything… Face masks, hair masks ( maybe I should have thrown in some hair products too, like shampoo and conditioner…), body scrubs, to clean and disinfect my brushes… Love them all!

So! Here you have my picks! What would be yours?

I will also tag some of my lovely girls/friends here on WordPress, but everyone is welcomed to join the fun and do this Tag! So Divya, Jackie, Serene, Andreea, V, and the lovely Talker Blogger.

Thank you for your constant support, beautiful !

See you in November!

For us here, in Europe, the end of August sadly marks the end of Summer. But it also means that it is time for me to talk you through all my favourite summer products – both old and new amazing discoveries.

This is how you will see my favourites – in seasonal posts. I do not like forcing a favourites post every month, just for the sake of writing something! I have lots of ideas! And the Beauty World has so much to offer!…

This being said, here you have my most loved beauty products of Summer 2014!

Fotor0807192051

My first ones are the Dior Addict Fluid Sticks which along with the Burberry Fresh Glow B.B. Cream were this year’s new releases. It was a real pleasure to be able to test them and discover them, because they are amazing! I already reviewed them ( Dior , Burberry ) so this is as much as I will tell you here!

As you may ( or may not ) know, for me the Summer of 2014 was all about bronzed, healthy and glowing skin. In fact, the whole month of July is a mini-series of related posts. So among my favourites I had to include my well-loved bronzers and highlighters: a new buy the Guerlain Terracotta Sun Celebration Bronzing Powder and Blush 30th Anniversary Edition the Star Sun Powder ( longest name ever! ) and another favourite the Hourglass Ambient Lighting Powder Palette, both reviewed here and here.

My skin never felt more pampered than when I used an old favourite of mine – the Caudalie Divine Scrub. The name describes it perfectly: divine natural oils blend, divine scent, divine results after usage. Read full review here.

During summer, my go-to fragrances change from mysterious, grown-up scents to more fresh and floral ones. Last year I was loving Chanel No 5 Eau Prèmiere, but this year was a truly amazing rediscovery: the Annick Goutal L’Eau d’Hadrien. I reviewed this one at the beginning of this month, in a oh! such a poetic post.

My last favourites were face mists. Omorovicza, L’Occitane, Melvita, Caudalie, Uriage thermal… They are so easy to use and versatile: you can use them to moisturize your face, as a setting spray, on your beauty blender to apply your makeup, while traveling on the plane, or to refresh yourself in your car when you wait in the heat for the green light. Face mists/floral infused waters, especially Rosa Damacena infused ones, became a very important step in my skincare routine, replacing my toners – which I always find a bit drying and harsh on my sensitive complexion. More on my most used face mists, here.

These were my favourite products this summer. Which were yours?

See you in Autumn, beautiful!

xx, Annie

Summer of 2014 – Bronzed, healthy, glowing summer Tip #6: Stay Hydrated!

12 Saturday Jul 2014

To maintain your skin looking healthy during the summer heat it is very important to keep yourself hydrated.

To do so you need to drink a lot of water have balanced meals with lots of vegetables and light meat and to eat more fresh fruits.

But you can also help your hydration process from outside by using face mists, face waters or thermal waters.

Here you have a few of my favourites!

photo 1

From L’Occitane the Verveine Fresh Summer Mist is a face mist enriched with organic verbena  extract. It comes in a spray tube which you have to keep at a few cetimeters away from your face when you spitz it, to get the mist evenly on your face. The oil-free mist is very fine, and the verbena extract has a refreshing citrusy scent. After applying it, you instantly feel more comfortable and refreshed.

My next pick is another L’Occitane one, the Hydra Vital Face Mist à L’Eau d’Angelique Bio. It instantly refreshes and hydrates your skin. You can use it in the city, while traveling, at the beach or after exercise. It is a perfect step in your skin care routine or to achieve a long-lasting makeup finish.

The next one is the Omorovicza Queen of Hungary Mist a refreshing and calming rose water which originally comes in a luxurious glass bottle. Here I have the 30 ml, travel-sized one. I have a complete review about this and a few other Omorovicza best sellers here.

Another favourite of mine is the Melvita Damask Rose Floral Water. This is a hydrating and regenerating face water certified organic and with ingredients coming exclusively from fair trade. This floral water is obtained by steam distilation of fresh Rosa Damascena petals which makes it rich in active ingredients. It has a fresh, delicate rose scent and helps hydrate and regenerate the skin.

You can use it as a toner, for that cleansing step in your skincare routine. Highly tolerable, extremely beneficial for sensitive skins.

Next we have the Caudalie Grape Water and the most infamous in the beauty world, the Caudalie Beauty Elixir.

The Caudalie Grape Water comes in a spray can. It is a moisturizing, smoothing and refreshing water made of 100% organic grape extracts. It is preservative-free, fragrance-free. The mist is so fine and it has to be left to dry on its own and not to be rubbed onto the face after spraying.

The Caudalie Beauty Elixir, on the other hand is a more complex product. I am not going to give you too many details on this particular one, as I am sure you all used it or at least heard of it. It is a mixture of natural oils ( Grape, Orange blossom, Rose, Balm mint, Rosemary ) meant to help you achieve a smoother, glowing complexion. You can use it as a toner, to set your makeup with it or simply to refresh your face.

All Caudalie products are made of natural ingredients and they are cruelty-free.

The next two items are 100% natural. They are the Trio Verde Mint Water and Melissa Water. The Mint Water is calming and soothing and helps refresh your tired complexion. The Melissa Water calms and refreshes all skin types: the sensitive skin receives gentle and calming care and the mature skin receives hydration and smoothness.

They are good to use for face, body and hair and to remove makeup.

More on Trio Verde products on my previous posts here and here.

Last but not least, good to hydrate your skin during the hot summer heat is the good, old thermal water. The one I particularly love at the moment is the Uriage Eau Thermale d’Uriage an hypoallergenic formula excellent for sensitive skin which hydrates, soothes and it has an anti-free radicals action ( = prevents aging ), and an anti-inflammatory action. It is the thermal water with the highest concentration of minerals. It is also fragrance-free and easy to carry in your handbag. To use whenever you need a refresh!

These were my favourite face waters/mists to use during the summer to hydrate my skin! What are yours?

See you soon, beautiful!
