Since I can finally say that I can see major signs of Spring after such a long Winter, I thought I’d do a Favourites post!
Now, I’m not the one to do these kind of posts on a regular basis, mainly because once I discover a product that I really love and I know it works for me, I totally stick to it for the longest time. So a monthly makeup favourites, or skincare favourites would be kind of repetitive and unnecessary. Plus to form a decent opinion on a new product, especially with skincare, it might take a lot more than one month.
But this past couple of months I’ve tested a good few new products that instantly stole my heart and made it to my Favourites…
Here you have my absolute Seasonal Favourites for the Winter of 2014-2015:
– festive red listick was THE thing for me this winter. I particularly loved these Tom Ford shades – Crimson Noir ( permanent ) and Alejandro, from the Lips&Boys Collection. I also loved the iconic Dior Rouge 999, the orange-reds Estée Lauder Pure Colour Envy in shade Impassioned and Wild Ginger also from the Tom Ford permanent line and the Burberry Lip Cover in #18 Ruby. Later on I’ve discovered the new, reformulated Chanel Rouge Coco in Arthur, which made me dig out it’s matte correspondent, the Tom Ford ( again! ) Flame.
– Tom Ford Lips&Boys Alejandro – Burberry Ruby – Chanel Arthur– Tom Ford Crimson Noir– Dior Rouge 999
– for skincare, I don’t change it too much, I’m only adjusting it to the needs of my sensitive skin. But the products I loved the most were the Elemis Pro-Collagen Cleansing Balm Anti-Ageing, the Elemis Gentle Rose Exfoliator, the First Aid Beauty Face Cleanser which I like to use combined with the Diptyque Radiance Boosting Powder for a deeper cleanse, my holy grail mask – the Oskia Rainessance Nutri-Active Brightening & Resurfacing Mask and the new addition, the Elemis Papaya Enzyme Peel Mask and of course, my beloved Omorovicza Queen of Hungary Mist. Mostly cleansing products now that I take a closer look! No wonder though! because I firmly believe that a clean skin is a good, healthy skin. And a flawless “canvas” also means an easier makeup application, with less products! I also have to mention my hands and lips saviours this Winter: the By Terry Baume de Rose and the Laura Mercier delicious gourmet hand creams.
– my favourite Winter home scent for the past two years has been this Byredo Bibliothèque Fragranced Candle. I can’t even tell you how much I love this candle and how many I have burnt down. This year I went for something different, something more smokey and warm, with comforting notes of patchouli, birch tar and guaiac wood – the Burberry Smokey Embers Fragranced Candle. It’s the perfect candle to “recreate the mood of an English fireside afternoon”, as they say on their website. Definitely give this one a sniff if you’re in a Burberry store.
– for fashion items I absolutely lived in my Smiling Shoes heels! You might think that I went bananas, especially if you know what winters are like in Continental Excessive Climates, but stay assured I still had boots on for walking outside, in the snow. But for work and going out, and winter parties these shoes never left my feet!
– for random favourites, I really got into tea which I think it warmed my body as well as my soul. I particularly loved the combination of strong, aromatic tea ( mostly from the Teapigs company ) and coconut milk.
Also my love for clementines went to another level of obsession, and I always found myself munching on them and these Milka cookies…
And I totally hated 50 Shades of Grey – simply because I can’t get excited about someone else’s sexual fantasies… No offense!
I hope you enjoyed my favourite things for the Winter months and please be kind and share yours!
Also, should I make this Seasonal Favourites a regular entry on my blog? What do you think?
See you soon, beautiful!
xx, Annie

Yes, ma belle! My vote is for a seasonal series :o)
Your photos illustrate your favorites in such a lovely way! Andy and I love Byredo’s Bibliothèque as well. So yummy!! I could die.
How are you? Anything new going on?
Quick update from southern Utah: I finished reading Clara and Mr. Tiffany. Great book :o) The soil scientists are meeting us at our lot tomorrow morning so that they can begin designing a septic system for our new house. It’s the first unofficial/official breaking of ground, I guess. LOL. I spent a long while in the garden this afternoon as well. I feel wonderful after getting some sunny rays. Miss you, ma belle :o)

OMG! SOOOOOO happy that you can finally take the first steps, even if they’re small to your dream house! this is that critical time when you want everything to be ready in a blink of an eye and loose your patience! pff!
I immediately went on Google and searched for Clara ad Mr. Tiffany… sounds like an amazing read! the beginnings of Tiffany & Co, right?
and it had to be a woman behind everything, right?! LOL
we finally made it to the seaside! the weather it’s not the greatest but it tries its best! we actually have sun with clouds at the moment, but the sea is as cold as Hell’s core! so no bathing for now… well, we were expecting that anyway! and fingers crossed, sun will be more generous the next days! 🙂
have a lovely weekend as well!
sending you lots of xx and hugs all across the Ocean + a continent! 🙂 🙂 🙂

Aww. You’re the sweetest.
I’m so sad that the sun and cold water aren’t cooperating for my friend!! I’ll keep my fingers crossed that it still a lovely holiday. :o)
And, yes, Clara Driscoll was the woman behind the true artistry in the Tiffany studios. Her letters well document the period and fill in a lot of the gaps that previously left us wondering if they were Louis Comfort Tiffany’s designs or the designs of others. Her designs were by far the most elegant and refined, and it appears that the idea for the lamp shades was hers (isn’t that what we all think of? Tiffany lamps?). It was fun to learn about the son of the man who started Tiffany and Co. as well. It sounds like they were an interesting family! Clara was a true women’s lib trailblazer, as well. She lived an extraordinary life. Thanks for letting me gush :o)
Rest up, have fun. XO, ma belle.

Sounds more and more like a very intestinal read ma belle! I’m happy you enjoyed it and thank you so much for sharing it! I will definitely look for it too! I love things that have a story behind… Be it an object, or something that happened… or even a person! This is my kind of read as well… Not some erratic, sexual fantasies! 😉😁😋
We had a lovely weekend after all ma belle! The sea made it precious! And that dang food in Bulgaria that was everything and more! I took some shoots while we went there so I will definitely send a few in an email! I HAVE to keep my promise! Haha! 😁😁😁
Again, I hope you had an amazing weekend as well! Even better than mine! 👌🏼😌😊😘😘😘

I really enjoyed this post Annie! I think you should regularly do a seasonal favorites post. I think it’s a much better idea than a monthly favorites. I do monthly favorites because I am always adding new ones lol. You pictures here are beautiful! I never saw the 50 Shades of Grey movie and don’t plan on it. I might watch it when its on DVD just because I’m curious but I’m not going to spend good money to go see it in a theater after hearing about it. Lovely post as always though! Have a great rest of the week! ❤ Lots of xx

Yes I know you and your reds. Red is so your color though! It looks beautiful with your skin and hair 🙂
I have been doing good today. Up and at ’em this morning lol. Though maybe I will take a nap soon lol. The only plans I have for the weekend is going out to dinner. We don’t have any sort of bank holiday here unfortunately or Ron would be home too. I hope you have a lovely weekend though! Lots of xx

ahhh! I’m so happy I found someone who thinks in my terms! so I thank you for that my lovely!
it’s true, you can write monthly favourites as well, but that wouldn’t mean that you had some favourites for a short time?! and that short time isn’t actually too short?!
I definitely agree with you! to be able to “attest” a favourite ( I can’t find the right word, so that would do for now! ) you have to get the most out of it!
wishing you an amazing weekend!

Such lovely favorites! Love the amount of cleansers, I am totally obsessed with those myself. I cannot wait to try Elemis, First Aid, and Omorovicza!
Wasn’t 50 shades of grey awful?! I just watched it last week, but it was totally cringe worthy and akward! I also thought Jamie Dornan looked so much sexier in the fall and it is not a compliment to say you look hotter while portraying an evil serial killer.
I love the watch btw, is that Daniel Wellington?
Hope you have a lovely thursday! Almost weekend 😉

yes! I didn’t liked the movie as well… the book was even more awful that the movie though… in the movie I could understand and appreciate to a certain extent the acting, but the story line… well it’s definitely not my type of read!… don’t get the hype, really don’t!… no offense to those how enjoyed it though!

Oh the book was just so poorly written. The story isn’t what i would normally read, but I just coildn’t get over the poor prose.
Movie wasn’t much better, just akward.

COMPLETELY agreed with that! The writing wasn’t much indeed and the story line pathetic and pretty much annoying and predictable! Just crying and “banging” every two pages! Didn’t got me through half of the second book!
So I wouldn’t know how it ends? Maybe you’ll tell me!…

No you don’t want to know how it ends: the ending is the worst thing ever. And I only know this because I was on fieldwork in the middle of nowhere and that was the only book I hadn’t read yet…. never do!
